First twins Barbara and Jenna Bush apparently learned little from their scrape last year with Texas lawmen, who were called by the Bush-hating manager at an Austin Tex Mex restaurant who spotted the underage duo ordering Margaritas with fake ID.
They've been luckier this summer but not a whole lot more careful, according to a source at one Arlington, Va., pub not far from the White House.
The bar, Iota's, was carding very thoroughly one recent Thursday night, so the presidential twins' "fake IDs must be sweet," the source tells the magazine Washingtonian Online.
"When a bartender recognized the twins, he took their beers away," the e-zine reports. "But the twins still stuck around."
The Bush girls, who turn legal later this year, reportedly visited the bar with "a pack of pals" to see a folk band called Brown Couch, whose guitarist attends Yale with Barbara.

It clearly says that they were arrested in Texas on the fake ID charge last year.Give me a break! Are you really that much of a plaything in the hands of the press?
Earth to Non-sequitor: When a reporter rehashes OLD NEWS that doesn't mean that any NEW FACTS emerge in the NEW STORY being reported!
There is not a single NEW FACT reported above. NOT ONE. The story is completely unsubstantiated BS.

When you say "It was changed for him," do you mean It was changed by the legislator without his lobbying for it, or do you mean the legislator changed the law because he asked them to?

The Feds hung money on it.

A comment like this non-sequitur makes your judgement suspect. You're upset because you know I'm right. Would you leave your child with a baby-sitter who's pro-life or pro-death?
To: Miss Marple
The thread is full of a bunch of hysterics who jump when the press says jump.

Bill Clinton signed the bill that made workplace sex between an exec. and a subordinate harassment EVEN WHEN CONSENSUAL.
Something about the power of the man and the lack of power in the woman being intimidating.
The left invented "harassment" to bring down corporate execs. and it ended up biting their guy in the butt.

Yes, either. And have done so.

Thanks AppyPappy. So he is definitely NOT hypocritical if he does not care whether his 20 year old daughters drink or not.
I do not know how he fells about his daughters drinking. I have seen no evidence that it bothers him and my personal opinion is that it should not bother him. On the other hand, it may bother him after all. As far as I am concerned, it is private family business.

Let's hope.

This story needs more than the word of some unnamed pub owner in Arlington Va., an ultra-liberal burb of D.C., for me to give it credit. If the owner of the pub had some connection to the story, it might have a sliver of credibility, but no owner is identified. NO ONE is identified. The bartender is not identified, nor is he quoted. The bouncer --- the ID checker --- is not identified, nor is he quoted.
The story is completely and utterly unsubstantiated.

Very wise words @ #14.

I agree with you re: your analysis of what is happening on this thread. Those who respect honest reporting, logic, and facts will see the holes in this story. Then there are those who blindly accept innuendo, supposition, and tabloid journalism as the truth.
Those who look to feed their rant about President Bush....Laura (see #107)...their families, their children... their money... their colleges ...and ...and ...and... will use anything to feed their petty bile regardless of the illegitimacy of the source.

I think both girls need to be spanked. And, I suppose you're volunteering? :-)

It is *stupid* to have Prohibition still in effect for those aged 18-20.

****I'm just making a valid statement. Too many thin-skinned people around here.****
Yes, I think I have seen you make the same statement on the other 'forum' you frequent.

Yes, I think I have seen you make the same statement on the other 'forum' you frequent. What forum is that? Maybe I have. I don't remember. And since you think you read it, then you must frequent that forum also.
To: justshe
Just for clarification, I looked at my posts from the only other site I've been on recently. I made no such statement. Retract.

The story is completely and utterly unsubstantiated. And yet the thread remains undeleted so someone here must disagree with you and feel it has some validity.
Perhaps it's a useful tool to root out disruptors?

You posted a link to the other 'forum' on a thread on THIS forum, so I went to see what it was. Not my cup of tea. Most there seem to be people who have been banned from Free Republic.
Additionally, if you will more closely read my post, you will note that I said, I "THINK" I have seen you...". Details are important.
