She wasn't gettin' anything out of me; she wasn't going to break me, no way.

I wonder if Condit was flashing on the interview with Chung when he said this, or was he thinking of that last rape-torture session with Mikey in Rock Creek Park? Sounds to me like maybe the latter. Shades of OJ: "Sometimes, I felt like I was the battered husband" -- "Sometimes, I dreamed about killing her, Ship." Very interesting.

Seems like it wasn't Connie, but Chandra, who "went into a daze, and just lost it." Lost everything, including her life. To which Condit says, screw her.

But what on earth does this have to do with Russia, or Putin? Only one thing: just as if a politician being interviewed about his recent trip to Russia, would be expected to come clean and admit he HAD made such a trip--- similarly, a politician being interviewed about his relationship to Chandra ought to have admitted he DID have one!

And just as in the one case, the interviewER (Chung) in her astonishment would have had to just keep pressing him to admit the trip, similarly she had no choice but to just keep pressing him to admit the affair.

No way would he. So, he said, Chung is just a nasty little gossip. Only interested in my personal travel itinerary. Only interested in my sex life. Only interested in what was plain as the nose on his face, that he was trying to deny.

Really, the reason he flunked the Chung interview is, he was trying so hard to avoid saying "Chiang." As in Joyce Chiang.
