*Bush not as vulnerable as Democrats perceive: Conventional wisdom among those in Washington said to know about such things is that President Bush and his fellow Republicans are in big political trouble because of the rampant epidemic of corporate corruption and ensuing turmoil in the stock market. *Can we beat Maryland's Queen of Liberalism?

CNSNews.com: Republicans, who have controlled the U.S. House since In a state dominated by Democrats, it shouldn't be so difficult for the Maryland lieutenant governor to convince voters that she should be promoted - especially since the state hasn't elected a Republican governor in 36 years.

But the early lead enjoyed by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Kathleen Kennedy Townsend over likely Republican nominee Rep. Bob Ehrlich has slipped from 15 points to just three points, according to a recent public opinion poll. Another recent poll says Kennedy Townsend's lead is seven points.

This, in a state where registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans two to one; term-limited Democratic Gov. "The unmistakable evidence is that the supposedly nonpolitical tax agency responds to complaints by prominent politicians. "

A Chief Negotiator (sigh) thread from November 16, 1999 IRS says audit request create a "sensitive" situation for agency
"Sometimes, referrals are so sensitive that lawmakers refuse to discuss them or even identify the groups they referred. Among those whose offices declined to provide details of their letters when questioned by The Associated Press were Bunning, Sen. John Breaux, D-La., and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif. "

There has been a lot posted here about Dem's requests, but this is the only old one I found.

LOL! I went to the site, saw the Neil Boortz link, and immediatly hit the exit button. NB is a worse enemy to Republicans than he is to Dems. Let's exclude LP participation at every opportunity. After the false accusations they've leveled at the Republicans on this site, they don't deserve any attention from the GOP at all.....

Sorry, I didn't see your security badge while you were standing guard outside the GOP "big tent." /sarcasm

Sure big "L" libertarians are a bit wacky and tend to have problems differentiating their friends from their enemies, but generally they are harmless. Whether they admit it or not, they do have more in common with Republicans than some of the nutballs that they try to elect. A waste of votes that otherwise would get cast for Republicans, thus enabling the Demo-rats to elect candidates on thin margins. Thankfully the Greens are now doing the same thing to the Demo-rats.

Having one more vote than the oposition is what wins elections, so it is insane to push away voters that share the majority of issues to your party, even if they are a bit eccentric at times.

Most of the libertarians on this site engage fittingly in the great old Patrick Henry vs James Madison debate on government power.
However, the others are the ones who seem to get all the attention.

Neil Boortz can be weird but he is entertaining.

The IRS practise of entertaining requests for audits from - 'from' not 'of' (LOL!)- politicians is an old story.
