If I had to guess, I would say somewhere either in Mexico or South America after a mud slide or volcanic eruption. Funny picture. The rooftops look like pyramids.

At the risk of a double post, I will try this again, since I don't see my response here yet- I had guessed Martinique, and that the body of water seen in the background is the Caribbean. The rooftops look like some television footage I saw of houses there, and the huge amount of ash and big rocks covering the houses also look similar.
