Perhaps a short word of thanks to St. Barbara, patron saint of miners (and all who work with explosives, including my husband the fireworks maker), would not come amiss.
This statue of St. Barbara was carved out of the rock of the mine by one of the miners in Wieliszcka, Poland.
The second of the 9 trapped miners at the Quecreek Mine talks to a rescuer at he is lifted out of the minee capsule in Somerset, Pa., Saturday July 27, 2002. (AP Photo/Steve Helber/POOL)

Some of us are on slow wireless connections. Quit it with the monster graphics! This is breaking news, after all.
