Firefighters test the rescue capsule that will be lowered into the shaft being drilled to the trapped miners, early on July 27, 2002. Rescue workers bored through rock and earth in a frantic attempt to reach nine Pennsylvania coal miners who have been trapped in a flooded mine shaft for over 48 hours. With time running out and rescue efforts already delayed 18 hours by a broken drill bit, emergency crews laboring to extend rescue shafts to the stranded men were within 100 feet (30 meters) of their intended target.

I've seen that pic a hundred times. But we were discussing this on the other thread. The guy in that pic is huge, and I bet two guys could squeeze in if they were smaller.

Spokesman now saying that they are coming up one at a time.
