Because they had him on videotape in the convenience story and 5 other witnesses that saw him, the milkman, security guard at Shriners Hospital, MK, searcher, and Moul. I agree that the man that Moul saw is almost certainly involved in some way. I'm not certain that the other sightings you list are of the same man. As far as who went into the home, who knows. Ricci would have known the layout better but perhaps he had took the perp in on a 'dry run' so that the abductor would be familiar with the layout.

I don't think it's that complicated and the kidnapper is one of the small group of usual suspects associated with Ricci and his criminal activity. Think police will ever show us a picture of Remington?

I've been puzzled by something Ed Smart said, to the effect that the police did not take him seriously when he placed the 911 call. I would love to hear the recording of his conversation with the dispatcher.
Did the dispatcher alert LE immediately, or did he/she grill Smart and frustrate the hell out of him? I can't think of anything in the words "My daughter was just kidnapped from her bedroom at gunpoint" that wouldn't cause any police dispatcher to snap to attention. Any thoughts/ideas on this?
