Dawn you have to tell me if this girl who was seen in this car in Tampa...was she just sitting there? or was she screaming or what? Man can you imagine seeing that at the light next to you?

While
abductions are down, the press is driven by ratings. These events do capture the attention of viewers, which is a good thing as educated viewers will help become a modern day posse.

I have to say I agree. A long time ago, this was
why we had news agencies. Not the news agencies we have now, who only report things based on their opinions, but
real news stories, and if a 6-year old girl who is abducted from her home is not considered
newsworthy anymore, than I don't know what is.
We have become so desensitized to things like this that when a news report comes out about this little girl, about Samantha Runnion, Elizabeth Smart, Danielle Van Damm and others, that we just automatically think there is an agenda. The only thing these parents want are for their child to be found and found alive. As a parent myself, I would do anything and everything in my power to help me get my child back. And I don't think that anyone of you would do any less.
So let's stop the useless debate about whether or not this needs coverage or not, and start praying that this little girl will be found..... alive. I can only imagine what her mother and father must be thinking after knowing what happened to 5 year old Samantha.

LOL...it's ok. You are closer to the story. I just happen to be in an office where 3 different networks are running this story.

So the guy with the baseball cap on backwards, with no shirt on, is the FATHER?
They suspect the man who spent the night on the coach of taking the child?
WHAT is holding the little girls father back from going out to find them?
I'm sorry if this is an insensitive question and offensive to some, but if they suspect the guy, and think she might be in the lake, tell me...wouldn't any of you Dad's (or Moms) be out at a lake, any lake right now?!

I'll go find the story and post a link. He was in the backseat with holding a gun on her. She was driving.
I'll post a link, give me a minute to find it.

As far as national coverage, I don't know if it serves a purpose.Oh, it does. The question is, whose purpose?

I have been thinking along those lines for a while now - It's just a matter of time.

Primary rule of Life:
" ALWAYS expect the unexpected"
Not that I am saying it was (or wasn't) the father's fault.

Of course, but you are using common sense which is, by far, the most uncommon of traits in liberals.
If the purpose of all of this coverage was to end child abductions or at least scare pedophiles enough to keep them from committing acts like the one on Samantha Runnion, the focus would be on proper punishment for the perpetrators and not so much on how can we avoid it happening to our kids.
Just my humble opinion.

"Give it a few more weeks, Digital Angel will get some sort of government funding and the cry will ring through the halls of congress, "Digital Angel, save our children!" Not only do I think an implanted chip will be mandatory at Birth but would not only track a person but hold info. on EVERY aspect of our lives including medical/criminal records. Paper money would be unheard of by this time, when you paid for something all you do is swipe your hand and your chip is connected to your bank account.

ON KSDK ST.LOUIS, THIS GUY WAS NOT SLEEPING IN THE SAME HOUSE... HE WAS SLEEPING AT A NEIGHBORS HOUSE and came back to the home that he slept at soaking wet and said that he was swimming in the River. The neighbors thought it was strange due to the girl missing.

Again, common sense is seriously lacking in today's world.
That is why we have stupid lawsuits every day.
However, even the highest doorlatch can't protect a child from a predator if he is already in the house or if the child is outside.

I haven't commented thus far, but I have to predict that all of this coverage is to fuel the fire of any parent's worst fear and to accelerate the microchipping program that is already in the works. Oh boy, that's an issue that's been worrying me since I heard it being pushed on some radio talk show last week. I was astounded to hear that the host was actually recommending that children be implanted with this device.
What about instead doing something about all the perps that are set free after little time in prison for their earlier offenses? The creeps who do this stuff are never cured.
Why should everyone else have to suffer (be implanted and tracked) just so we can let these morons walk among the rest of us?
I'm really ticked off by this.

but the family was staying at the house...not at their own home...am I still right on that? or did the media mess that up
To: ksen
The answer is as obvious as Paula Poundstone's sexual preferences.

You're right. I really hope for the family's sake that if something has happened to this little girl, and I'm praying that it hasn't, that the person responsible wasn't someone they invited into their own home.
