I said I wasn't sure how much a living body @ 60 lbs. would weigh @ dead weight. I'm sure it would be more than say, a sleeping child (who would be alive.) My kids always weighed the same, asleep or awake.

Why does body gain weight after death? I thought dead weight was just a term used to say that one is carrying someone who isn't holding on. I didn't think it meant real extra pounds.

They may weigh the same, but they're harder to carry.
