Well you're still running, so carb-loading may be right for you He's mainly saying that carbs have an important place in a diet (not garbage carbs like you get from sucrose and other sweeteners, though). If I remember correctly, complex carbohydrates (in the appropiate amount of course) are important in the proper metabolizing of proteins.
