So now we'll see an exodus of team physicians, unless the teams agree to pick up the malpractice coverages....

Its called malpractice insurance, and this doctor should be covered.

except now the insurance companies will either cancll the coverages for team physicians, or raise the rates and/or lower the coverages....they'll assess the market..if they believe that now we'll see a spate of players suing their teams docs, well, they figure the average jury will wanrt to side with the player......so....

I hope the plaintiff's attorney has insurance, when the doctor sues him for slander. BTW, malpractice rates in Florida have skyrocketed in the past two years, thanks to ridiculous verdicts like this one. It's high time for lawyers to start worrying about their own costs of professional liability.
