The Dow, S&P, & Nasdaq futures were heavily goosed at around 5am this morning. The S&P and Nasdaq futures then took a dive at 8am into negative territory before crawling back
Somebody's trying the breath life into this morning's session. Whether they succeed is anyone's guess

The bell rings at the half hour...9:30 ET.
SP futures up
DOW futures are up
Over seas closed up.
Market oversold...people will buy today and sell in the later rally...
This is the perfect market for day traders...and a perfect time for investing longs to pick and choose wisely long term investments.
I follow sector funds...the sector that keeps budging in the green on the RED days has been biotechs and drugs...
The mutual funds are hedging right now...they are shorting the SP500 and going long on the NASDAQ 100.

I certainly hope the bulls come out as well and buy some of those "oversold" stocks so I can go short on those dogs all over again.

Outflows in mutual funds, caused by investors selling and parking their cash elsewhere, has increased. It was neutral in May, after having been positive (more buying than selling) for years.
I can see investors going after particular stocks they think are grossly oversold, but I have trouble believing individuals are going to putting money back into mutual funds in this market.
The pressure is going to continue to be downward, even if the Dow components have a bounce upward.

It's only a matter of time. Stocks are getting way too cheap. Sooner or later the other Bulls will join me.

Any thoughts on whether real estate will hold up?

That would seem like a good move at present, Mr. Vegas!

I scanned the morning news shows and nothing, zero, on Citigroup and Robert Rubin. Is this story for real? CNN is actually still peddling the ridiculous idea of Bush bringing Rubin into his policy orbit.
I smell a complete cover-up.

Any thoughts on whether real estate will hold up? It should for awhile, at least. The Fed is pumping so much liquidity into the system that just about anyone can get a low-interest loan. That's more dollars chasing houses, which should tend to put upward pressure on housing prices.
Unfortunately, that's causing a bubble in prices much like we saw in the Dow during the 90s, and it's probably not sustainable.
Whether that will come to an end this year or not, I rather doubt, but it will definitely come to an end. Greenspan can't continue to increase the money supply without major negative results.

Indeed...:)
