In Brooklyn, which until 1898 was a separate city, 3 million residents, the Arab Quarter centered around Atlantic Avenue, not far from Brooklyn Heights. Only there did one see Storefront signs in Arabic.
Starting about five years ago, that began to change rapidly. Now those businesses can be found in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Bensonhurst, etc. And many of those businesses had Website URLs---frequently the only recognizibly English language part of the sign.
The new Muslim residents keep up with the "old country" via the Internet. Think about it!
