What gives any parent the right to submit their own child to this type of public humiliation? Parents today are way out of control if they think they can control their children and direct their actions. I certainly hope that the school board, the CPA or some other public agency rescues these poor teens from their obviously hyper-restrictive environment.

Whoa!!In my day, that was what parents were supposed to do!

Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me. Let's all pray they pull through this with any permanent damage. Lord, have mercy! Does anyone know if they have an attorney yet?
To: steveo
Whats wrong with it?
They caused their parents alot of grief and came up with a fair punishment.

Two teenage boys were forced to stand on a road with signs apologizing to all mothers for staying out late,
My nomination for Parents of the Month go out to these kids' moms.......

Wrong site pal, DUh is down the hall and to the left. (No pun intended)We don't want school boards or other nannies telling folks how to raise their kids. (Forgive my outburst if you were just being sarcastic)

"In my day, that was what parents were supposed to do!" Amen. A lesson learned hard is a lesson learned well. Of course, these days, efforts to teach children anything of value borders on child abuse in the liberal mindset, which it seems that many otherwise conservative parents have bought into as well. Perhaps the punishment is a little harsh, but these parents are perfectly within their rights to make that choice and I'll bet those boys think twice before doing it again.
It is important that children learn that there is a right and a wrong and how to tell the difference. When one has done wrong he should feel ashamed. The people who seem to think this is horrible punishment are likely to be the same ones screaming for the blood of these boys if they're running amok and commit a crime when they're a bit older and hold the parents criminally liable.

"Wrong site pal, DUh is down the hall and to the left." ROTFL! Thanks. I needed that.

I would have had them holding up those same signs, while wearing Boston Red Sox hats!

In my day, that was what parents were supposed to do! I agree. It's nice to see parents take enough interest in their children to discipline them. I don't think this punishment is too harsh at all.

I had the same reaction as you, then I looked at the keywords. I think that was sarcasm. The keywords are Good Parents. : )

I would have had them holding up those same signs, while wearing Boston Red Sox hats!I think you are crossing the cruel and unusual line there.

Ok, maybe its just me but what a great idea. I wish I had thought of it when I still had teenagers at home. Next time they wont stay out late - don't ya think!

I can't believe someone hasn't contacted that 'Rights of the Child' crew down at the U.N. -- they'd know what to do.

Excellent Mean Mommies thread, Mo.

Stevo, what are you talking about? Are you advocating the government should be raising our kids, as in 'it takes a village'? I'll bet these kids will think twice about disobeying their parents.
