Helicopter pilot John S. Sutton landed his helicopter July 13 at the home of businessman John Peters to pick him up, police said.

I fear we may experience more 'natural reactions' as the days go by from such individuals.
Remember what Justice Louis Brandeis said: The greatest danger to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding.

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I've never seen a helocopter land in my neighborhood. What would the coast wathcers of WWII have done?

Well during WW2 helicopters were a rare sight. What if this had been a life flight chopper. The story is kind of funny but only because no one was hurt.

Well during WW2 helicopters were a rare sight. What if this had been a life flight chopper. Here in the Fresno/Clovis area of CA, there are I think 3 different police helicopters flying around. They fly low over our home at least 5 times a week.

It reminds me of George Gobbel the TV entertainer talking about his WWII years being stationed in Oklahoma. He said, "No Jap bombers got past Tulsa, by golly."

Okay, did a freeper do this? I have some in mind who might do this. Actually a heli in my neighborhood would unnerve me but I don't think I would shoot at it.

Remember what Justice Louis Brandeis said: The greatest danger to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding. Well, praise the Hebrew G*d that He gave us men, like Louis Brandeis, who were in possession of greater than average understanding. Absent them, we poor, slobbering, flyover-country simpletons just wouldn't have known what to do with our lives [not that we ever possessed the understanding to appreciate those lives in the first place].

Bump! My thoughts exactly. A helo landed on the lawn outside my country club's swimming pool last weekend. It was quite a spectacle. My first thought was immediately that someone had a heart attack on the golf course, and that the helicopter was there to transport him to the hospital. What kind of idiot would start firing a rifle at a landing helicopter?
To: TheEngineer
What kind of idiot would start firing a rifle at a landing helicopter? The same kind of idiot who would fly a commercial helicopter into a residential neighborhood to pick up a customer, then lie to authorities that he had a mechanical malfunction.
