they were never sucessful enough in their armed robbery/murder endeavors to get enough money to become acustomed to the finer things...to most of 'em a can of spam and some "grands" biscuits would be next to sex.

Absolutely. I can't remember the exact IQ.

Did a search and all the usual suspects concening the death penalty came up. This blurb is from the socialistworker.org:

Or the Arkansas governor who in 1992 approved the execution of a mentally retarded man named Ricky Ray Rector. Before
going to the execution chamber, Rector saved the dessert from his last meal--to have when he came back to his cell.

I thought it was while he was running to appear to be tough on crime.

A good memory does not equal pale ink.

Sorry, humanity is lost when one deliberately murders...guess what Bible quoter..did you know the direct translation of "Thou shalt not kill" is Thou shalt not MURDER? We are instructed in the Bible to punish those who have done wrong, not to pay for their upkeep and entertainment.

it's a real shame that you took for your FReeper name, that of a cartooning genius. From what I've read, Mr. Iwerks was no bleeding heart liberal. Shame on you!

You should have read the profiles about the crimes they committed. What is really sad is that you'd feel sorry for someone who raped and killed someone's grandma.

The Bible tells us that we ARE to judge men's actions...when we put them to death (ya know..an EYE FOR AN EYE????), we are not judging their souls but their actions.

So tell me why Texas taxpayers should have to shell out one thin dime for these scum to eat ANYTHING?

Because Texas is the home of the "compassionate conservative"....

If I had the choice for a final meal, I'd want all the high-fat, high-cholesterol, high-sugar stuff the health nazis say you aren't supposed to eat. With any luck, I'd croak before they found the vein.

Why worry about your health at that point?

"Vengence is mine, sayeth the Lord"

It's not about vengeance, its not about malice, its not about anger. They have simply shown by their actions that they do not belong in our society. We are merely sending them on to God in the quickest way possible and letting him deal with them. I don't really see a problem.

Yes a human life is precious, but freedom is equally precious, but we have no problem depriving criminals of that?

I went through all of the menus and the gory details of about half. Some things that were noticeable to me:

Nearly all had less than a HS education
There was a sexual component to many of the crimes
Only two females
The number of white convicts(you would think from media reporting that it is all minorities)
Predominantly young folks
Nobody ordered soup or fried potatos
