"I don't think that we as public officials have the right to force our beliefs on anyone else," said Mayor Dan Prince. The ACLU wins.

How about "Vote for Simon" before Red Davis gets it.

Some said the water tower presented an opportunity to send a message, and that the city should not be concerned with "some crackpot" filing a lawsuit. Yes, I belive that's who they were referring to in the above statement.

"It really does offend me when I see God's name up in public places," said Gaynl Stouffer-Trotter. "It trivializes it."Gee Gaynl Stouffer-Trouter. I wonder if God Jesus Christ-Holy Spirit feels the same as you?
To think of him as Trivial anyplace is indeed Trivial.
Stop trying to pretend your defending him it makes you look cheap! Then again?

Could someone explain to me how it is "dangerous" to paint a flag on the water tower?

"Who Did Chandra" would be appropriate.

In California, it's dangerous. Very, very dangerous. Lawsuits galore.

Gaynl Stouffer-Trotter----I wonder if this is a man, woman, or all of the above?

"I don't think that we as public officials have the right to force our beliefs on anyone else," said Mayor Dan Prince.
Yeah but its ok to force your tax policies on everyone.

"I'd like to see the water tower blend into the environment," said Harry Dedini. "With the flag, we might have to stick a beacon up there."
You all know where this guy can stick a beacon.

I think representatives are elected to set tax policy. If you don't like it campaign against them. But they are clearly not elected to support your religious beliefs or those of any majority. What is your problem that you need our government to reinforce your belief in God?

I think they should have painted a big ole Confederate flag on it, just to confuse everyone and get attention.

The politician's comment was absurd, as are all statements from modern politicians. A lawmaker is always promoting his "beliefs." How else could it be?

As long as they leave room for cool adolescent boys to write their girlfriends names ( and losers their schools or own names) I don't see where there is a problem.
If they are going to take up so much room that it interferes with boys' exercise of their fundamental right to use of the water tower then one could argue that it would be un-American.

Elected officials are not allowed to use their office to use taxpayer funds to promote their religious beliefs. What country are you posting from?
