Pitiful, the crooks in Washington can give countless millions to 'Special Interest Groups', but this brave man's widow is left to fend for herself and her children? This is what happens when a majority of the snakes in Washington are career politicians.

She should sue the Lindh family for everything they own.

Pern...
Not career politicians, rather, "professional politicians" with a deathgrip on office.

She'd at least get a settlement. I doubt seriously the Lindhs would want to go through a trial.

Hannity made a good point last night in his discussion with Span's widow. He basically said if Sen. Byrd gave up only 1 of his pork-barrel projects that would pay for people who give their life for this country. Even Alan Colmes agreed with this.

I believe the Lindh parents are more culpable than the son. What type of parent allows their offspring at age 16 to go to Yemen to study strict Islamic law?

The widow of America's first combat casualty in the war on terror did not go into further detail on the air, but she told Hannity during a commercialYou write that we "need to help her", but this is where the problem is. If it is the case that, with her husband killed in service to the CIA, she only gets one year salary, it's the problem that needs to be solved.
With all the money the government wastes, I find it incomprehensible that she isn't provided for.

Congress wants to give corrupt countries even more foreign aid.

No life insurance to speak of according to Sean Hannity. It's possible that due to the hazards of his job, Mike Spann couldn't get life insurance at an affordable rate, but I doubt it.
Men--or women--if you're the primary breadwinner in your family--PLEASE buy life insurance. If you're young and in good health, it's cheap.

I just emailed Hannity to see if he started up a fund yet, let's see if I get a reply.

Hannity said yesterday that he would post an address on his web site:
Hannity either today or tomorrow where people can send her money if they so desire.

Meanwhile, United Way money donated for victims gets spent on who knows what - maybe 16 year-old girlfriends of scumbag directors for that mafia organization? It happened before with their CEO, and I haven't seen anything change at that extortionist outfit, other than his departure.
And the Federal government falls all over itself to pay millions to WTC survivors who, innocent as they may be, were not serving their country to try to protect their greedy, whining butts.

Now, now, remember that some 30 years ago, the Democrats listening to the mantra "if you're old enough to die for your country, you're old enough to vote," extended to 18 year olds the right to vote, contract, etc. Therefore, all 18 yr olds (and up) are responsible for their own acts.
Although, in this case, the parents are really not legally responsible for the criminal acts of their 21 yr old son. He is responsible for his own acts. Spann undoubtedly had the minimum life insurance of all military personnel ($50K, I believe) - additionally, the kids should get SS benefits through age 18. Additionally, the mother seems really rather intelligent and undoubtedly will get a book deal, movie deal, etc.

As a parent, I'd hate to think that I am responsible for every single action my boys might take in the future, but I do agree with you on the parents being at least partly responsible for this mess.
I've wondered since I first heard of this family - is one of those kids who was allowed to address his parents by their first names instead of "Mom and Dad"?

Which widow? If I recall, there were two.You are corrct there were two. However, the first wife died in early December(?) from a form of cancer. She was mother to the two girls I think.
