Why don't you try looking up Ducheny's voting record on critical gun bills. The answer lies there. Though your own post comes close...
Denise Ducheny, candidate for the 40th Senate Dist., is a pro-gun Democrat. |
And two things to remember: 1. It's the National Rifle Association, not the National Republican Association. 2. The NRA's mandate is to elect pro-gun candidates, not "conservative" candidates. Personally, I'll take a Denise Ducheny or a Rod Wright any day of the week over what the GOP tries to pawn off on us.

When the gun groups automatically default to the Republican, they get taken for granted by the Republicans, who will sell them out at every turn knowing that they'll get the votes each time.
If the NRA picks off the worst 10% of Republicans, then the remaining 90% will actually be more likely to do the right thing.
(Not that the NRA hasn't endorsed most of the foulest gun-control measures in our nation's history. It is fair to call it the nation's largest gun control lobbying organization. But I like the magazines, and I like the the opponents of liberties THINK it is pro-rights.)

She is a throw away vote. I am tired of supporting groups with Socialist moles.

Better to support gun-grabbing Republicans then?

In Kalifornistan all the Democrats are gun grabbers. Even some of the Republicans are gun grabbers. When you find a guy like Mike Giorgino who is willing to stand for the Constitution you don't slap him in the face by giving $3000 and endorsement to his opponent.
Take a look at the flyer he handed out at the NRA ILA meeting. The only reason that the Dems didn't pass more gun grabbing bills is they were too busy looting the state. If they get Davis, and 2/3 control of the Assembly and Senate, you can kiss you gun rights goodbye.

One more thing. The NRA will endorse a candidate with a known voting record over someone who has never won an office and doesn't have a previous record of promoting Second Amendment Rights. The NRA has been over the coals too many times for endorsing unknowns who later stab us in the back.

In Kalifornistan all the Democrats are gun grabbers. This is a lie. Democrat Assemblyman Rod Wright has done more to protect the rights of gun owners than any CA Republican. The same can be said of Congressman Joe Baca, another Democrat. It was these guys who kept the gun grabbers in Sacramento from "ghost voting" new gun laws in the dead of night; not the Republicans! Try peddling your blue-nosed, country club GOP tripe someplace else. California gun owners aren't buying it. We know who our friends are.

Since the GOP is in danger of being completely shut out of California Government it makes sense to have an ally with power and willing to support your position. Also if the NRA can split the Democrats then the GOP can't take them for granted and compromise on the theory the NRA has no place to go.

Go ahead and vote for the DemocRAT and hope that they eat you last. I will give no more money to the NRA. They have a nice talk but very little walk. They remind me of every group that get to big and loses contact with the rank and file.

Go ahead and vote for the DemocRAT and hope that they eat you last. Its merely a question of the speed of the Socialism. Do you want the state to subsidize steel or medicine? The Republicans in my state are anti-gun as well. They never seem to mention it until after the election.
The best part about voting for DemoRat Socialists is that they will wreck the country so quickly, you might have an opportunity to live freely within your lifetime.
Republican Socialism might linger on for another 100 years or so.

I offered a commentary on your original question as to what the NRA is doing, not an endorsement of voting for a Democrat. Maybe you can explain what your reply has to do with either your original question or my response?

Be sure you know everything your "friends" are up to. NRA is supporting CARA the so-called Conservation and Reinvestment Act. This one is clearly anti-private property. This thing will further remove people from the land in the West. NRA supports it because they'd get a few millions annually for Gun Safety Education. IMHO this is a bad trade-off. Federal dinero has too many strings and the rest of CARA is anti-freedom. I voted with my feet, I'm no longer a member. Read Diane Alden's take

The NRA makes a big deal out of what they claim to have done, but here in Colorado they were UNSEEN and of NO HELP when we had the Million Mom's and Clinton here. They also didn't show there face when the gun show loophole was closed.
I'm a life member and ashamed of it. The only reason I haven't cancelled my membership is that I want to keep track of what they are up to.
I have found the NRA-ILA to be very rude both on the telephone and in e-mail answers to my questions. More than once have they claimed responsibility for the work and effort of real grassroots activists.
I feel for all you Californians, your trying to regain some of the rights that the rest of us take for granted.
Don't wait for the NRA to come to your rescue, they will take credit for your deeds afterward. Just get out there and do the deeds.
