I still think it's very strange that a composite picture of the person the little sister saw has never been put on TV.

They asked one of the family why the artist very talented artist who offered her services was not permitted to create a picture for the public. The answer was that they have a good artist too. If that's true...Where is the picture???????????

The other puzzle is why they keep showing picures of Elizabeth from years ago instead of recent pictures of her that someone would recognize??

There is a lot more to this case than meets the eye!!!

Please examine the pictures at www.elizabethsmart.com. They give her age at the bottom and some of those are quite recent. As for the stories of her supposed 'new look', I find them unbelievable. Elizabeth played her harp at cultural events. If she no longer looked angelic I'm sure the gigs wouldn't have come her way.

The police did have a sketch made of a guy they wanted to talk to and released it and they guy came forward and was cleared. I think when Mr. Smart started talking with Mr. Klaas about bringing in the sketch artist the SLCPD & FBI called him aside and asked him to back off on it. I think LE knows who the kidnapper is and for whatever reason does not want to release it.

I'm sure because she was much cuter then and they knew those photographs would grab America's attention (which they did, by the way, they were right). All the pictures they've shown this week have been current pictures, I've seen them everywhere on TV.

Have they released any more news on "the letter?"

I was on the phone at the time of the press conference and it seemed to go on for a very long time. Mr Smart was talking for quite a while but they have not released any info about the letter. It seems that if they wanted it to be hush-hush, why the press conference?

Only that LE & Mr. Smart do not think it is really from someone that knows where or what happened to her due to the contents of the letter. (the contents have not been released and probably will not be)

The short version is that most likely they were unable to create a credible composite presumably because the perp was wearing a mask. The cops are keeping the details quiet for a reason unknown to us at this time. For more details, see yesterday's thread where this was discussed.

This was also discussed (and discounted) on the thread day before yesterday. The ElizabethSmart.com website has current pictures. The speculation was that the networks continue to run the pictures they first received which aren't necessarily the most current.

If one of my daughters was abducted I would probably grab pictures off the wall which I could get my hands on the quickest and may not immediately realize that I had more current pictures in my camera - ESPECIALLY since the police were trying to get the pictures out immediately as part of the Amber/Rachel alert which was about a 3 hour window.

What you are saying is that the Smarts, the SLCPD and 40 FBI agents have CONSPIRED to provide only old pictures and thereby prolong the search for ES. The "they" you are referring to is the networks. Why don't you ask them?
