And you should have let her in. Your "pride" should not be a factor in safe driving decisions. Even if she was a deliberate screw up who was trying to "intimidate" her way in.
When you start playing games to keep someone from getting something over on you, you are "raging" yourself.
I don't participate in that kind of crap. I would have layed on the horn to WARN and slowed enough to let her in, if she wanted to change lanes.

Your "pride" should not be a factor in safe driving decisions.Of course, he would first need to have time to check that some other driver is not tailgating him before he slows down for the first driver (I have learned the hard way always to check the rear view mirror before touching the brake pedal except in the most dire emergencies). He may not have had time to check his rear view, and so may have needed to lean on his horn.
