Car Filled With Guns Tries To Get On CBS Lot

LOS ANGELES)-Four people were detained Friday afternoon when they tried to drive a car containing guns and ammunition into the CBS Television City lot in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles.

According to CBS 2 News, the group never made it into the facility itself. The arrests occurred at the perimeter of the complex.

An investigation is under way.

  (LOS ANGELES)-Security guards at CBS Television City summoned police Friday after the driver of a vehicle full of rifles, handguns and loaded magazines tried to enter the facility, police said.
  
  KCAL 9 News learned the driver of the Chevy Lumina was trying to get onto the set of "American Idol" and may have worked as a stage hand on the show.
  
  The driver failed to enter the facility and was detained about 1 p.m. outside the complex in the 7800 block of Beverly Boulevard, said Los Angeles police Officer L. Leong of the Wilshire Station.
  
  CBS Television City is the taping location for "The Young and the Restless" and many other CBS shows. Already heavy security at the lot was tightened even more in the wake of a four-hour standoff on May 28.
  
  In that incident, police said Raymond Deroven Jr. crashed his brown pickup truck through a gate at CBS and walked into one of the buildings while holding a gun to his head. He kept officers at bay until he shot himself in the upper body.
  
  Deroven is facing attempted murder and assault with a firearm charges involving two alleged victims, including a CBS mailroom employee at whom he allegedly pointed a gun.
  
  Witnesses said Deroven expressed fears that police wanted to hurt his family.
