Why are conservatives so afraid to stand up and fight? When I ask Congressional staff or members why they wont fight for what they believe in I am told that things would be different if it was me that had to stand up in front of hundreds of my constituents and explain why it isnt good for America to provide carte blanche access to every drug possible to every senior citizen.

If that's true why doesn't congress also make a law that will pay for all senior citizens housing, car, etc., etc.
Where does it stop?
Cut my taxes is exactly right.

Ever try to take candy away from a baby? The problem is that Americans are entitlement happy. Until we change
that, we won't successfully change much else. The socialism state will continue to grow. We need to change the culture and belief system. No, I too am at a loss as to how to do it.
I understand how you feel. People run for cover of the benevolent provider when times turn rough for them. Nanny state.

They are afraid that if they stand up for what is right they won't get re-elected.

Why are conservatives so afraid to stand up and fight? From where I am it doesn't look like conservatives are afraid to stand up and fight; it's the liberal Republicans.

As someone some days ago said - after about the 10th terrorist attack IN the US....then maybe we'll have people paying attention to WHAT IS important....until then, socialism marches on....

At least you have a republican congresscritter. My Socialist Rep isnt afraid to support Socialized Medicine even if he is incapable of explaining how such a program is Constitutional, but then I am the only one that shows up for his townhall meetings that seems to care about limited Government and legitimate Constitutional authority. The last time we met he told me that it was only my opinion that his oath to up hold the Constitution was relevant and should prevent him from voting for a bill he acknowledges is un-Constitutional.
