My post from the other thread.......

Today's edition of the North County Times is not yet on their website, but I am a subscriber.

I will type/post two paragraphs from today's article titled "Affidavits Detail Remarks from Westerfield". I found it interesting.

Westerfield also attracted suspicion because in conversations with detectives he mentioned that Damon van Dam and Danielle were going to an upcoming father-daughter dance.

"Only Danielle van Dam could have told him about the dance and only after she had been abducted," police write in one of the affidavits.

This is a good example of their wish to pin everything on him. What a foolish deduction !!!

We have now heard that perhaps Brenda van Dam told DW about it. So how could police have decided that the ONLY way he knew it was from the child herself.

This is another example of customizing interpretations to fit the suspect they want it to fit. It's very disturbing, IMO.

From San Diego Union-Tribune Story:

In 2000, an investigator for the District Attorney's Office wrote a memo to a prosecutor accusing Keyser and Ott of falsifying statements in an affidavit in order to get an arrest warrant. It is unclear if the officers were disciplined as a result of the accusation.

If you go and read those released affidavits, DW said Brenda told him about the father daughter dance, the new blouse, and Damon concerned because Danielle was growing up too fast.

Now, when the police went back and questioned Brenda, she denied she ever said this to DW. Based on this the police came to the conclusion that DW could only have known this if he kidnapped Danielle.

Now, for those (you, I, and we know the rest) that are capable of independent thought, does it seem like DW could have come up with these three sets of information (blouse, dance, growing up), if it wasn't Brenda telling him this? How likely is it that as he was raping/killing/kidnapping Danielle, she told him this? (that was the conclusion of the police).

I believe, that in PH, Brenda testified that she did tell these things to DW.
