Thanks for this post.

Let's see who was president when this Guy was made commanding officer at Athens: Ruff, who was sworn in as commander of the Navy school on June 30, 2000?

He probably made commander and then captain under the Bent One!

He was probably schooled in how to lie, steal and use Arthur Andersen audit techniques.

If this had been minor, he would left a week or two earlier for his retirement to spend more time with his family. Something bad has happened here.

You're not kidding! I don't know what this guy did, but the higher-ups are PO'd big time! You're right, if this was some little indiscretion, this guy would have retired a couple of weeks early with nothing really said or done. But to yank him 8 days short of retirement, thereby shooting his cute little retirement champagne and customary awards ceremony straight to hell, this guy REALLY did something!

athens ga is the home of the university of ga and is a notorious place for young loose girls. i think the correct question is "who" not "what".

It's a distinct possibility. This Navy captain really put a weed up his MAJCOM's backside. Maybe he was doing something with a dignitary's/Admiral's daughter?

I live in Athens. Maybe I can ask some people I know that teach over there, but I doubt they will tell.

We may never know, but I'll post here if I find out anything. Sounds like the big boys didn't like this guy's extracurricular activities!
