I was listening to Sean Hannity's show, when the local radio station broke in, saying that Allen Iverson and his uncle have been charged with multiple counts, including assault, by Philly DA Lynn Abraham.
That said, he will beat the rap. There is no way 12 people in Philadelphia will convict him. I'm no Iverson fan. I think he gets off on acting and looking like a street thug. It's bad for the NBA that Iverson is the player most of the upcoming players look up to or emulate, while class acts like Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Grant Hill, Karl Malone, are dissed as sellouts and bland. Somehow, Iverson is heralded because he is "real". Even with a team picture or head shot, he has to wear a scowl as if he were getting a prison mug shot. You must be a real hard a$$ to allegedly toss your naked wife out of your house and then bust through somebodys door with another thug/lackey with a gun and threaten to kill them. That's hard, AI.
He will not go to jail though. Iverson will plead down to some misdemeanor or win via jury trial. It's automatic nowadays for an athlete to win his court case. From Steve Francis, who beat a DUI conviction, even though he refused a breathalyzer test, to Mark Chrmura (a Dittohead who once refused to meet with Clinton of all people, I have never been so disappointed in someone) beating statutory rape charges, to Orenthal Simpson turning his ex-wife and waiter into human pez dispensers and the moronic jury who acquitted him, celebrities beat the rap, especially when they are considered the best five players in their sport.
At least this may lose the clown a few endorsement deals. I can only hope.
