Another home run from the despised Lew Rockwell. Given King George II's dismal record on guns (specifically his willingness to shoot down an entire airliner full of passengers rather than arm the pilots) I would say that this is the type of society that the reigning monarch of the US has in mind for us.

I just read that even rabidly anti-freedom anti-gun anti-self defense Senator from the Peoples' Democracy of Kalifornia Barbra Boxer agreed that arming the pilots was better than shooting down passenger aircraft. King George II and his barons Mineta and MacGaw would still rater kill all of the passengers on the aircraft than allow the pilots to defend themselves with (horrors) a gun. The more I read of what goes on in the UK vis a vie firearms, the more it appears to coincide with GWB's attitude.

If the robbers get the house, that would be a sad day indeed for all the subjects in Britain.

Every time I read about this particular case, it makes me sick to my stomach. If someone broke into my house or threatened my wife- I'd go beserk. Just thinking about somebody doing that makes me want to go and hunt them and their families down and kill them- and this is just a hypothetical. So for sure, I'd probably kill an intruder even though I can't have a gun in this country- and then I'd go to jail for life. I've thought about this before. If I were to be forced to defend my home here I would either A) try to hide the body and not report it B) flee the country or C) just go ahead and off myself too- I ain't spending the rest of my life in prison.
By the way, who's King George the Second?

"Given King George II's dismal record on guns (specifically his willingness to shoot down an entire airliner full of passengers rather than arm the pilots) I would say that this is the type of society that the reigning monarch of the US has in mind for us." Bull. The tiny-but-shrill antigun lobby didn't spend millions on ads to try to defeat Bush because they thought he was antigun.
Since his inauguration, Bush has driven the antigun lobby - and the Eurocommies - nuts with his support of gun rights. From his nomination of John Ashcroft (and getting him confirmed) to his standing up to the Eurocommies' demands for global gun control, it's obvious who's not their man!
Finally, trying to replicate Brit-style confiscation here is now impractical. Only reason why it was practical in Britain was that almost all guns there were registered - and few had them anyway. Here, a high share of the public has guns - and many share my attitude that "my only 'dependent' eats Purina!" Many of us at any given time have also just been told that we are terminally ill.
GUN REVIEWS free from ad-money bias - emphasizing woman-friendliness of tested guns!

If you ever need to defend yourself with a gun make sure there is only one story being told to the cops. (you know what I mean, if you have to shoot, shoot to kill. If you miss, shoot again.)
