While I agree that immigration and socialism are at odds, I do not believe that unchecked immigration is good, regardless if we have a socialist system or not. With widescale, unlimited, and unchecked immigration, you have pressures placed on the culture, schools, environment, voting booth, social group politics, assimilation, etc.

Secondly, I doubt that you would want America becoming some resemblence of the United Nations, because that is what is going to happen if widescale, unchecked immigration is going to lead us. The schools are socialist. Enviromental managment is currently socialist, only citizens should be able to vote and then only in the context of a Constitutional Republic not a Socialist Democracy. Problem solved.

Have you ever been to China? The government is pure evil but the average person is far, far more capitalistic and enterprising than the average American. Many Americans and most Europeans still believe in Socialism; they sit with blank expressions on their faces waiting for marching orders. The Chinese have been vaccinated. They know in no uncertain terms that state worship doesn't work. The average Republican is a Socialist compared to the average Chinese.

You haven't defended anything, you have engaged in total hypocracy. You've criticized the North for actions that the south also did. Louisiana, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee all had laws forbidding blacks from moving into the state. Mississippi and Georgia amended their state constitutions to forbid manumission. Virginia allowed manumission but gave the person freed one year to leave the state or they could be sold back into slavery. The Alabama Supreme Court ruled that a slave couldn't be granted freedom because they lacked the legal standing to accept it. Yet you criticize the North. You complain about states like Illinois or Oregon which had laws on the books forbidding blacks to live in the state, yet you ignore southern states with laws as bad or worse. And between 1850 and 1860 the census shows that the free black population of Illinois grew, while the free black population of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama shrank. So tell me again how you have defended you side and, perhaps, you can explain again how good they were.

Thanks for the flag. I happened to be in Gainesville on business just before the summer olympics [96???]. The owner of one of the largest manufacturing firms in Gainesville told me that the local schools, health and welfare budgets had been swamped in the early 90's by a huge influx of VietNamese and other asiatics. They left en masse for Wisconsin or Michigan and were immediately replaced by latinos from all over, mostly illegals.
