Halliburton Responds to Larry Klayman's Supersillyous Suit(My Title)
CBS Market Watch "Big Charts" Web Site ^ | 7/10/2002 | MarketWatch.com

Posted on 07/10/2002 11:04:03 AM PDT by SierraWasp

12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

Uh, I hate to tell you this, but the corporations are destroying the golden goose that they created as we look on helplessly. Maybe you should pay more attention to current events.

(paraphrasing, but darn close) "This is the reason for his existence. He only exists to sue people." --Mara Liason on Klayman yesterday on Special Report.

Thanks for the transcript of Klayman on Brown's CNN show (#420). It was even more offensive than I imagined.

And I see that a question I had on another thread (or maybe at the beginning of this one) is being spun.

I wanted to know why this lawsuit was being filed in time of war, when we could easily wait 6 months or so. I guess Klayman has someone looking at these threads.

My contempt for this man is reaching critical mass.

KLAYMAN: Well, not coming from the president you see. Now the president should not be intervening in private matters. Just yesterday, Aaron, he said he's going to let the chips fall where they may and no matter who's involved, they're going to be held accountable.

Now, he's saying on behalf of Vice President Cheney, and he's accountable for his own vice president, that there's no merit. Yesterday, he was saying he was going to investigate, so what is it? It shows a certain hypocrisy.

Well gee Larry, you bottom feeder, your the one who brought up President Bush in your press release about this law suit. Now your whining about him saying something about it?

The suit comes one day after President George W. Bush, who himself is enmeshed in allegations of insider trading when he was an executive, who sat on the audit committee of Harken Energy Company, announced a “plan” to crack down on corporate fraud. Ironically, it would appear that the President’s rush to propose more regulation of private industry is intended to deflect attention away from his and his Vice President’s own alleged improper business practices. President Bush has maintained that he was cleared by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Others have countered that the head of the agency was then an appointee of his father, President George H.W.Bush.

Talk about hypocrisy! Your a weenie, Klayman.

You asked it here (#171), and it's a very good question. Klayman's answer was well-rehearsed, but not adequate.

I note that he wants to depose the VP. I wonder if he'll do that as bombs are raining down in Iraq or when al Qaeda decides to attack us. Which is more important: Larry Klayman or defending our country? In Larry's mind, it's the former.

We could finance the War on Terror by selling tickets to the deposition of Dick Cheney by Larry Klayman.

Klayman organized a JW Caribbean Cruise three years ago. You remember that spunky Julie from Love Boat with all those fun and naughty coed sexual teasing among busty hardbodies and buff hunks? Well, this ain't it. NO SOUP FOR YOU!

The fun community events on the JW cruise? "Shave Larry's Back for Brunch" "Pin the Stop Sign on Larry's G-Sting" The "That chick isn't THAT obese" beauty contest. "Is that Courtney Cox's husbands lookalike?" celebrity sweepstake. "Get me off this floating hellhole" dream workweek etc. The wet-tshirt contest between Larry, A+Bert, Gabe Kaplan, Sidney Blumenthal and Andrea Dworkin. MTV was there for their "where did the Eagles lose Joe Walsh?" hide and seek. I told them Costa Rica ...

And to allow corruption to continue in our government -- and this is a president and vice president who, after the Clinton years, said, Move on, we now know what they meant, they didn't want anyone looked at, whether it was Democrat or Republican, everybody scratches everybody's back in Washington, D.C.

Larry nails it again. Thanks for posting the transcript.

Klayman will sue whomever's in power. It's his bread & butter. Literally.

He reminds me a lot of Ralph Nader.

Hi Fred
I love Larry Klayman
he is brave as a lion, he is honest, he is lovely person
I have seen him make errors in judgment tho
I don't agree with the Bush decision not to investigate and prosecute clinton's crimes
I wanted all the truth to come out
however I believe both Bush and Cheney are perfectly honest men, I would not have worked so hard to get them in power if I had not believed that
My guess is the decision to sweep clinton's criminality under rug is political
they think it would turn off voters in next election
I respect their free will to choose this
I have decided to switch my focus to stopping the war on drugs and will vote Libertarian in next election
My gratitude for what Larry did when clinton was in power is boundless
My love and prayers for him always go with him
Love, Palo

I have challenged people on this board to give me ONE piece of evidence unearthed by Klayman that resulted in a successful prosecution of ONE Clinton official. I don't think any has surfaced yet. Klayman played many of us like harps during impeachment with his claims that his depositions were going to unearth something big.

Now, without Clinton, Larry's contributions are down (surprise). Time to do something to get the money flowing again. It is sad.

Well, to my mind it is THE question everyone should be asking. And to go along with it, I want to know if the democrats will use this lawsuit as a way to accuse the President of "wag the dog" if we go to war before November.

To all of you who think the President is too cautious about Iraq, I had better hear a lot of defending from the "Bomb Bagdhad Now" bunch when the Rats start this line.

And by the way, WHERE IS THE MONEY FOR THE MILITARY?

Here we go again, John, the word wrap feature evidently conflicts with someone posting a page from another site. I accused SamBees of posting this reply from another site because it goofed up my "self-search" so badly that I couldn't tell it was "henbane's" reply on my Netscape browser.

Now, on Explorer I can see it was "henbane" who probably has no idea how this has now set everything following way off to the right for everyone, no matter which browser is used. This happened on a thread a week or two ago and the thread just had to die as it evidently couldn't be fixed.

This is just for your info as I don't even know if you're interested in fixing the problem, or if it can be fixed.

SamBees, I'm sorry for jumping you about this when you had nothing to do with the problem.

Not sure what you are seeing other than I gather that you are getting the post stretched out to the right. I'm not seeing any of this on my browser using IE. I've seen this happen a time or two in the past but on this thread it is aligned as it should be for me.

Until he provides more than he's normally provided in the past I'll assume he's blowing that hot air regardless of you knowing a little about Larry.

Have you seen anything of the Energy Task force info that he got by FIOA? How about all the emails they have recovered or he got in the past? Has Donato gotten his money yet?
