12:57PM Halliburton responds to Judicial Watch lawsuit (HAL) by Michael Baron Halliburton (HAL) is off 30 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $13.82, in midday action. The company is out with a press release responding to a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, a Washington, D.C.-based legal watchdog group. The suit alleges fraudulent accounting practices at Halliburton took place during the period when current vice president Dick Cheney served as its chairman and CEO. Halliburton called the claims in the suit, "untrue, unsupported, and unfounded." The company continued: "We are working diligently with the SEC to resolve its questions regarding the company's accounting procedures. Halliburton has always followed and will continue to follow guidelines established by the SEC and GAAP, General Accepted Accounting Principles."

Two investors chose to buy Halliburton stock three years after they changed their accounting method and disclosed that to their existing shareholders.
If these two investors didn't bother to do their homework then it's their own tough luck.
Had Halliburton not disclosed this I would not be making this argument, but they did, therefore this suit is a pathetic attempt by Larry for more fact time.
The most pathetic part of all of it is that the media is salivating over it. Larry must be orgasmic.

As I said, Larry will wait for the SEC investigation. If it turns up nothing on Halliburton, he will sue the SEC for an added once of publicity, before slipping away quietly in the night. If it turns up something good, he will have earned his keep the new paradigm way, on someone else's ticket. The beauty of this is that the SEC is under huge pressure to find something wrong with Halliburton. They will only issue a clean bill of health if the case is airtight.

Where is Donato's $100,000,000?
You could have asked Larry yourself, remember? You would have been elevated to King of the FR-JW Harpies.
That close...and you let it sleep between your fingers.

"The most pathetic part of all of it is that the media is salivating over it. Larry must be orgasmic."Hmmm...your choice of language to say the least, quite bizarre, and perhaps even interesting.
Perhaps you need to go to bed.
To: Registered
Or Larry could answer the questions that he's known have been asked here in FR for quite sometime.
To: Deb
You will NEVER get a reply to that post from ANY Klayperson. Why not make it into its own thread as a general question? I got a few for the Keyes folks :)
To: terilyn
"Two investors chose to buy Halliburton stock three years after they changed their accounting method and disclosed that to their existing shareholders."That doesn't mean they changed all their allegedly fraudulent practices.
I am glad and very grateful that Larry has taken this case on.
To: UnBlinkingEye
As always my conviction that both wings of the Republicrat party are equally corrupt has been confirmed.
Have any accounting standards/practices been violated by Cheney or Halliburton? Or you just blowing?
To: deport
There are some very good, straight facts, re accounting info in the link that you posted.
True, a lot of foil to wade through, but good facts nontheless.
To: Registered; Luis Gonzalez
Are pro-Klayman people not interested in the millions missing? Are they not wondergin where their donations are going, or if they are backing a swindler? Why are no JW supporters asking or answering that question? Do they not care?
To: terilyn
"Barbara Streisand"LOL! You couldn't have insulted me more Teri. Barbara is a prime candidate for a nose job and well, her music just plain sucks.
To: deport
Well, that is what we are trying to find out.
Good thing Larry is investigating this.
To: Luis Gonzalez
Excellent analogy!
To: FreedominJesusChrist
Anyway, it is very likely that the same fraudulent practices seen with this case, were already in place when Cheney was with Halliburton. If Cheney took any part in divising a plan to scam investors, he can be held liable for it, even if these people bought stock after he left. Maybe you should spend a little less time on ConLaw and a little more time on finance and accounting.
You obviously do not have a clue about this case.
As bright as you are, it looks like some of it would have sunk in by now.
Unless you just don't want to face it.
To: UnBlinkingEye
Nice try.
That commercial was made in 1996.
Keep digging.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
What do you think the IRS is trying to find out...... ?
Does 'eww' have anything to hide, if not then he should get on with the audit and make the IRS look foolish..... yep.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
I'd like to see the JW audit go through...after Rainbow-PU$H and a few others first.
To: Amelia
That is the only logical reason I could think of off the top of my head, as to why Cheney is included in this lawsuit.
To: FreedominJesusChrist
just plain sucks. Speaking of "choice of language", are you aware of the origins of that term?
