Kids? The kids this "wife" wants to take care of belong to a neighbor that has done nothing but tear down the fence around my home and stolen every good thing I've ever owned.

I was pretty sure that a public official could be impeached for crimes committed prior to their election to current public office. Name somebody who has been impeached over something he did before he was in office.
And, btw, if Clinton had gone to trial and been found guilty in the Paula Jones case, he would NOT have been impeached for that.

Isn't it true that the Congress decided that Richard Nixon could not be impeached for financial dealings he had BEFORE he was in office, which surely would have been criminal?
I understand you are saying theorectically they could impeach the proverbial ham sandwich if they wanted to, but most of the time they have decided that they cannot use crimes that happened while not in office.

Holy long thread Batman! Is this discussion still going on?

He's president of the whole country.

"BTW, I'm wearing a thong :-P.""Oooooh, baby."
Didn't you mean Ewwwwwwwww, baby?

I see you still won't answer the question about whether Cheney is the de facto president, nor whether he should be impeached.
Of course I cannot point to a thread where you say explicitly that you don't support the President.
I am quite sure, however, that there are plenty of threads where you chime in with the "Bush caved" and "Bush is a liberal" opiners. In fact, I do believe you have even posted pictures on those threads, PCB.
Therefore, if you are a Bush supporter, you are a poor representative of those people, and in fact if you maintain that you ARE a Bush-supporter, you are going to be asked by people like me just what it was exactly that you did support.

When is this thread going to get back on track?
To: Iwo Jima
Well, what a good question! I am most willing to go back to the subject.
Have you any further information about Hallibuton's legal movements today? I hope the hammer is falling on LK.
To: Iwo Jima
From earlier in the thread:
To: Howlin; All I was surfing around the Washington Times today and one article an interesting little tidbit:
The suit says Halliburton and Andersen violated securities laws when they did not disclose and justify the accounting change in a letter to investors. Halliburton's financial statements starting in 1998 do note, however, that it was booking uncollected revenue from cost overruns.

This Washington Times article suggests that Larry's Lawsuit is baseless.
Meantime, at approximately the same time the lawsuit is filed, Carville and company put out an ad accusing Cheney & Halliburton of "Enron-style accounting practices"....sound familiar?
Did I miss something, or did everyone just decide to "investigate" or "discover" these things all at once?

Of course I cannot point to a thread where you say explicitly that you don't support the President.
And of course that means I am a Bush-basher right?
... and in fact if you maintain that you ARE a Bush-supporter, you are going to be asked by people like me just what it was exactly that you did support.
LOL, who said the Spanish Inquisition was over.

PCB, apparently you think you are being clever by exerpting sections of my reply and ignoring the rest. You have replied too quickly, however, so that people can scroll up to my reply #1431 and read my whole statement.
Once again, while you have probably never posted a line in which you say you don't support the President, you have consistantly and for some time posted threads in which you denigrate his position, accuse him of "caving," and generally leave the impression that you would prefer someone else be Presidient.
Your clever little questions are not making points with me. Do you support the President or not?
To: Howlin
"Name somebody who has been impeached over something he did before he was in office."That does not mean that someone may not be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors committed before their current public office.
Impeachment is a serious punishment and only used in absolutely necessary situations.
Even One Particular seems to concur.
To: Miss Marple
I'll send you a gift certificate for a nice meal if you can find one instant of me saying "Bush Caved". In fact, I'll open that up to anyone that wants to see if they can find it.
It appears to me, that the lack of actual statements made by me that I would "prefer someone else to be Presidient (sic)" is actually more evidence that I do support the President.
To: Registered
Whatever you say, Reg. I will be paying more attention. Sorry about the typo.
By the way, DO you support President Bush? I would like a clarification, with no parsing. Thank you.
To: Miss Marple
Do I support the President. Sure. Do I agree with everything he has done, nope. Will I continue to voice my concerns, yep. Even during the war on Terrorism? Yep. So, is that clear enough?
Maybe I could design a little armband that you could hand out once you've identified a "true" Bush supporter?
