Wow! DeFazio (D-OR) just said he would offer an amendment to allow for all pilots to be armed and not just the 2% in the test program. He also said he was disappointed that the bill did not include flight attendents. Don't know, maybe he is trying to muddy the waters enough to get the whole bill defeated.

Maybe so but I have to agree with what he said.

Roger that! Looks like this thing is going to sail through. Congress' mail must have been running heavily in favor. Take that McGaw and Mineta!

Now, for the Senate. And Hollings is going to be blocking that for all he's worth.

Sail through the House and get stalled in the Senate, no doubt.

One thing is a total given - the DEMONRATS running the DEMONRATIC party (Hillary's Hellions) - will never vote for anything that means arming people to protect against burglars, terrorists, or potential government jackbooted thugs. NEVER.

And, in the US Senate, Hellary's control is the strongest.

So we'll see how far this goes.

By the way - if anybody has the slightest notion re: Demonrat candidate John Edwards - Senator from a state that went for Reagan and Bush - and has been strongly pro 2nd amendment even amongst its Democrats ------ and his stand on 2nd amendment rights - the basic right of self defense - including the right of arming pilots to so defend their passengers and planes ------ here is a snippet to remember:

Saturday Cspan televised some more free campaign time for John Edwards who is having a riproaring time running for President and ignoring North Carolina and North Carolinians.

Edwards was televised at a fundraiser in New Hampshire or Iowa - not sure which it was....

Two guys attending the fundraiser were filmed talking with Edwards - and it turns out both men are American Airlines Pilots.

They were talking to Edwards about a labor law change that evidently is going through Congress that would change the bargaining power of Airline pilots unions somehow----Edwards said he would look into it - he didn't know anything about it.

Then the pilots said they were very interested also in MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR AIRLINE PILOTS TO BE ARMED.

Edwards said something to the effect that "There are many sides to that issue."

The pilots then said - well if the choice is our own Air Force shooting down a hijacked airliner vs. the pilots shooting down a terrorist, they want the ability to shoot the terrorist!

Again, John Edwards basically told these two pilots the Hellary Clinton - world Socialist/communist mantra still holds true among the Demonazi Elite - esp Senators - and they must not diverge from that path no matter what:

Arming pilots is something we may not want to do......

In other words, arming anyone who might prevent further hijackings must not happen. In other words, simple common sense self defense options must NOT BE GIVEN IN ANY SITUATION because to do so means you understand and approve of an armed person being able to defend themselves/and those in their care! This must NOT be allowed to happen - even if it means terrorists killing thousands.

The pilots were a bit taken aback - but the Edwards charm smooozed it over.

I couldn't watch the debate. Did anything like the below get discussed?

Here's an interesting scenario that may play out for real...

F16 pilot stating the obvious to his superiors, or to a news outlet.

"Look the last thing in my life I ever want to do is shoot down a plane killing 500 innocent American citizens. Arm the pilots or I refuse to fly the F16. You can go ahead and court martial me if you want. But I warn you that the American people will be spitting on every F16 pilot that doesn't voice the same moral, ethical commitment to honesty that I have just given you.

"Think about it guys, you're supposed to be the elite thinkers backed up with million dollar think tanks. If the pilots aren't armed and one of our F16 pilots has to shoot down a plane full of hundreds of innocent citizens it will be the government's fault for not arming the pilots. Do you really want to turn the American people against their own government? Especially since they'd have every right and legitimate reason to do just that?"

"I will have no respect for a military which allows itself to be used as a substitute for the Second Amendment." William Tell 22

Or this version...

We Americans vehemently oppose a government that misuses its military to be used as a substitute for the Second Amendment to kill its fellow citizens.

Politicians and bureaucrats should be doing their job to uphold the constitution and especially the 2nd Amendment. That way anybody that wanted to carry could carry, if the airline allowed it. Which airline would get more business, the ones that allow guns or the ones prohibiting guns. Come on airline CEOs, it's high time you stand up and be accounted for.

Insurance companies would be justified in raising airline premiums if pilots aren't armed. If the pilots aren't armed the airline is neglecting to protect the passengers -- its customers -- the lifeblood of the business.

Amen! It is - just one of the many reasons. There are many others and if we do "take the Senate back" - it will be more of a miracle than the 2000 Bush victory!

"He also said he was disappointed that the bill did not include flight attendents."

Now that WOULD be truly stupid unless all of the passengers were also allowed to carry.
