Law enforcement sources tell Fox News an investigation is underway into massive visa fraud at the U.S. Embassy in Doha, Qatar, with implications that could yield much more information about the Sept. 11 operation.
The State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security began late last year to investigate the sale of 71 U.S. visas by employees at the U.S. Embassy in Doha

that may be true, but somehow it doesn't quite equate to it happening in a U.S. Embassy
I've been told, although I've not witnessed it myself, that in some Embassies, it is a foreign national who issues visas to the US. Can any one confirm or deny this?
This is true. In some nations you have more than one person issuing visas. Imagine the chances for bribery and outright death threats when visas for America are highly prized. Especially by those who plan to violate their visa and never leave America once they get there.
Yeah well.. with the strange twists seen recently in the case of the Egyptian terrorist at LAX, I wouldn't be surprised if the State Department itself were showeling fake papers out the door to anyone who could show himself to be an enemy.
An ex-pat in Donetsk told me of his tribulations trying to get married here. At one point he took off his prosthetic leg and banged it on the burocrat's desk, yelling "I lost this f**king leg defending my country and you tell me I can't get married?!!" He ended going to Warsaw for the documents.
Not all foreign nationals working in US embassies are corrupt. The cleaning lady, for example, is merely a spy.
If I remember right, Sept 12, 2001 was the first time a Freeper suggested that all visas (at least from "certain" countries) be revoked and visa holders be returned to their own countries until things could be sorted out. Our government, in its infinite wisdom, decided against this common sense approach.
This case could be a good reason to revoke and return all holders of visas from Qatar, since there was possible fraud involved. Wonder if our government will think of this?
Maybe this is why Qatar had only one person apply for the visa lottery in 2001. Their odds were much higher at our embassy.
