Kind of a long story but, the dog, who does not bark because it was raised around dogs who couldn't bark? (why does this sound ludicrous?) got upset the night in question and tore it's dog bed up. Possibly being a fiber source a few of us wondered what it looked like.
Maybe Layla tore the bed up for that reason...
Or the more simple answer....
Her TOENAILS tore the bed....
