Feldman is trying to get the witness to agree that the time the body was placed in the desert was between 16-18 days prior to the discovery of the body.

Feldman is scoring big points. Witness said body could not have been available prior to that time, at least for the flies.

Absence of beetle larva is indication body not available to insects until 16-18 days prior to discovery of the body. This is very good for DW. Dusek did not even try to object to many of Feldman's questions.

Question, if she was wrapped in the sheet for 10 days..and then the animals pulled the sheet off in the 10 days...could this account for the time delay of bugs (aside from the obvious..dumping at a later date)

He may as well have been. But no. He was surveilled 24/7 and had GPS attached to his SUV and phone trapped. SDPD even ran liscense plate checks on all of his guests. So for all intents and purposes he was.

Didn't Feldman ask that same question? Faulkner said he didn't think that the body wasn't covered. He said more, but I don't recall exactly all the words. I'm still trying to work under a deadline & listen intently at the same time.

It may not be an AHA moment for all; it was for me.

What can he do? He can try to come up with a scenario with an earlier date, but the witness has stated his conclusions. I don't see how they can damage the testimony. After all, this is Dusek we are talking about... : )

I didn't hear him ask it..ok, this may be the 3rd thing that brings doubt.

I think the implication was that the body tissue had to be in a certain state of decomposition for certain flies to be there. If the body had been covered, it would still have been decomposing, past the time that those certain flies would have been interested in it.

That's what I'm getting from him.
