It sounds like the INS needs to start checking on these "newcomers".

People get bolder as they see how easy it is to do so...in all walks of life and situations. Instead of "Oh, how wonderful to live in America" it becomes "You know, we've had a RIGHT to be here all along." People don't like humility very much at all.

Human nature. I see the same tendency in myself. Does anyone else?

… immigrants should learn to speak English…

This is what my grandfather was told in 1902. It was good advice then, and it is good advice now. My grandfather took the advice, became an American citizen, and loved America until the day he died. The immigrants who have different notions of America need to hear the message: “immigrants should learn to speak English” over, and over, and over, again, until they accept the message of America or go back to where they will be happier.

Who is telling these people that America is just here for the taking?

Are so called hispanic leaders telling latins in mexico that the USA is a big fruit basket, and all you have to do is run up here and take some of it?

Why isnt INS working to deport illegals rather than welcome them?

Illegals don't need to learn the language. They need to get out of our country.

Brock said Monday that while he's sorry if his comments offended anyone, he won't apologize.

He has nothing to apologize for.

At a news conference Monday, the Hispanic leaders demanded an apology from city officials, the event's corporate sponsors and Stampede organizers.

Apologize for what? LOL. Brock just said what many people are thinking. More power to him.

"His comments were bigoted, inflammatory and hateful," said Roberto Cordova, a local college professor

Go teach south of the border, ingrate! What country has allowed you the luxury of becoming a professor?

The issue goes deeper than Brock, said Jorge Amaya, director of the Northern Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce. "The problem isn't what Brock said. The problem is that our community leaders didn't step up to condemn it."

Huh?

BINGO! Problem is, the PC crowd has instilled self-censorship in many people, even conservatives. How radical: expecting people in this country to learn English.

I'm not sure why the "Mexican Olympic Swim Team" got up and left, If they understood the words he was saying, then quite obviously, his remarks were not addressed to them. His comments were clearly targeted at people who come to the U.S. and refuse to embrace the language and culture.

Many of those who are called leaders of the Hispanic Community are really cheerleaders for the DNC, the same thing that happened to the Black Community.
