Saudi envoy: Israel occupation worse than Nazis

LONDON - Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Britain said on Tuesday that Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza was worse than anything Europe experienced under Nazi Germany.

He also defended Palestinian suicide bombers.

Ghazi Algosaibi, who drew fire last April for writing a poem in praise of an 18-year-old female suicide bomber, said Israel was using its military might against civilians who were defending themselves with the only weapons available to them.

"This is a war of occupation, far more severe than anything the Germans did when they occupied Europe in World War Two," he told academics and reporters after giving a speech at the University of Westminster in London.

The Nazis systematically exterminated six million Jews during World War Two when Germany occupied much of continental Europe.

He said that contrary to the wide portrayal of Palestinian suicide bombers as religious fanatics seeking promised heavenly rewards, most were driven by their desperate circumstances under Israeli occupation.

"The man who kills himself does it because he has decided it is better to die than to live as a slave," he said. He said the poorly equipped Palestinians were using everything they had to oppose the might of the Israeli army, considered the strongest in the Middle East.

"If nothing is at their disposal they will use their bodies."

Saudi Arabia has put forward a peace initiative, backed by the United States, offering Israel normal ties with Arab states in exchange for an Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank and Gaza occupied in the 1967 Middle East war.

The oil-rich kingdom is a key U.S. ally in the Gulf but ties have been strained since the September 11 attacks on the United States, with some American parliamentarians accusing Riyadh of not doing enough to combat groups the United States has labeled "terrorists."

Washington blames al Qaeda for the September 11 attacks and says 15 of the 19 people who slammed hijacked planes into New York's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington were Saudis.

Algosaibi said Saudi Arabia was doing everything in its power to fight groups assailed as "terrorist," including Saudi-born militant Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network, which he said did not have a strong power base in the kingdom.

"I honestly think for logistical reasons...it is difficult for bin Laden to have active cells in Saudi Arabia," he said. "Osama bin Laden is the only Saudi at the top of the organization. Saying al Qaeda is a Saudi invention is confusing the acts of a single person with a state."

There is no reasoning with these people. They are unreasonable.

Such a crock. Under Israeli "occupation", all the benchmarks in terms of electrification, water, sewage systems have gone UP.

This Saudi ambassador is getting to be a real pain. Of course, the fact he's still in his office is very indicative of the true sympathies of "our friends, the saudis".

The Nazis systematically exterminated six million Jews during World War Two when Germany occupied much of continental Europe.

And another six million non-Jews, who somehow never get mentioned.

These Saudis speak like the good Pan Arab fascists that they are. These people are a blight on humanity. But since it is the home and birthplace of the rapist and murderer "prophet of peace" I guess one can't expect much more.

The man who kills himself does it because he has decided it is better to die than to live as a slave...

Than just kill yourself. The objective of escaping this life will be met, why bother with killing others. After all Islam is a "peacefull religion". So stop spreading your peace or pieces on the graves of others.

Exactly. It only makes his analogy sound ever more ignorant. 1500 Palestinians, mostly militants vs 15 million citizens of Europe.

He thinks one Arab life is worth 10,000 non Arab lives.

That explains why they sneak past all those military posts in order to blow up grandmothers and babies at pizza parlors and bar mitzvahs.

He forgot to mention the financial reasons...much of the financing of al Qaeda comes directly from Saudi Arabia.

Do the Israelis have Religious Police who walk around beating people for perceived violations of a code of conduct like the Saudis do?

If you want to talk about a totalitarian state, look no further than the one in Riyadh.

The spin from the other Saudis, like they did after he published that disgusting poem, is that these are his private views and not the official position of Saudi Arabia, the telethon for Palestinian "victims' notwithstanding.

I just wonder when they're going to admit that this is, indeed, the official position of Saudi Arabia--and the rest of the Arab and Muslim world?

Islam will eventually be destroyed. No false religion, based entirely on thin air, and taking it upon themselves to kill innocent women and children, and that in the name of G-d, can be allowed to indefinitely continue. The real McCoy will tolerate this, but only for a time. I saw a documentary on how the Israeli MOSSAD hunted down those who killed their people at the '72 Olympics. The Almighty will do even more than that to these infidel boasters. No doubt about that whatsoever.....

The Israelis have Religious "police" who crawl around on their hands and knees picking up scraps of human beings after terror attacks.

I seem to recall that most of the Arabians got along rather well with the Nazis when the Afrika Korps occupied that area. The Bedouin were an exception, of course, as were most of the Senussi tribe of the Libyan area, but though the Germans could be condescending toward the Arabs, they were also genuinely interested in and sometimes fascinated by them.

In that sense then, the Saudi Ambassador to Great Britain would certainly be correct. And it should be no problem for him to follow in the footsteps of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, as seen below:

"That explains why they sneak past all those military posts in order to blow up grandmothers and babies at pizza parlors and bar mitzvahs."

Most assuredly. Their BS would at least be logical if they could point us in the direction of research that shows that the French/Dutch resistance attacked shops and stores in Germany, killing German hausfraus and kindern ...

Or, when they compare themselves to American patriots in the Revolutionary War, where records indicate that the Swamp Fox or Lighthorse Harry Lee crossed the ocean to bomb the pubs and dancehalls of London's East End.

You Idgit
