"For the president to suggest that it's not black and white when it comes to accounting..... Ford has obviously NEVER run a business or worked as an accountant. /sarcasm
I rather doubt that he has ever had a real job, either.

Harold Ford is a High Yaller @ssh*le of the highest order who lives to demonize Republicans and race-bait. But these kinds of personal attacks always help Bush, especially coming from a Rapist-Lover like Harold Ford. Keep talking, Harold. LOL!

Rising Democratic Party political star Rep. Harold Ford said Tuesday that the Securities and Exchange Commission should consider reopening its insider trading probe into President Bush's 1990 sale of Harken Energy stock. So what has Bush done wrong? Failed to file a trade form with SEC in a timely manner. I heard the stock doubled in price after President Bush sold the stock. Doesn't sound like he sold the stock to avoid losing its value. And this disingenuous "rising star" doesn't see that? Oh Please... The SEC did an investigation and found no wrong doing. Am I missing anything unethical or against the law Bush did?
Does this s!!!t ever stop? I can only fathom why these sycophants try to keep this BS up. The old word association game; say it enough times and the ignorant may start to believe it.
LBJ: "I know he didn't do anything wrong, I just like hearing him deny it." Said something like that...

He's also got an annoying "I'm above it all" attitude that in a JC Watts would cause him to be called an Uncle Tom!

LBJ: "I know he didn't do anything wrong, I just like hearing him deny it." Said something like that... The situation that LBJ would have his opponent deny was having... relations... with one of his farm animals back when he was running for Congress.

Articles like this are the reason I refuse to even look at Newsmax. Not that there is anything wrong with the content, but because "reporting" on what occurred on someone else's radio or television show doesn't even meet a minimal definition of "journalism," as far as I am concerned.

Imus was interviewing White House reporter Dick Gregory this morning, and noted that 1) Gregory tried to spin the Harken story to sound like President Bush pulled a Martha Stewart "day before the crash deal" rather than a 3-4 month span of time before there were any problems, and 2) mentioned that DNC weasel Terry McAuliffe made a sweet $18 million off the demise of Global Crossing and nobody is following that up.
It was a sweet moment, and I thought Imus was really on his toes with Gregory. He spanked him nicely, making him look like the liberal flunky he is.

You're right about Newsmax. It reminds me of an article in the '70's when the Pope came to the US for a visit. They did a spoof on the whole thing and had articles written by Father Guido Sarducci of SNL fame. He never actually went to see the pope but reported on what he saw on TV. It was really funny without being sacreligious.

I wonder who keeps Jesse's books?

"It was a sweet moment, and I thought Imus was really on his toes with Gregory. He spanked him nicely, making him look like the liberal flunky he is." Gregory's just sucking up to the A-List Cocktail Party crowd like all his fellow elitist reporters. His network, NBC, did the absolute worst job reporting on a presidential news conference I've seen in a long time. No matter.
The Harkin story is over. It got a week, most of it on a long holiday and now Bush has upstaged all of them. First, he upstaged Daschle and Dip Geckhardt, then he pulled the rug out from under Daschle by making these securities changes by Executive Order - neatly circumventing the obstructionist Senate. Bush has the high ground and the last word. Can't handle it any better than that.
And the networks are furious.

Don Imus isn't a journalist :-? I'll be darned
He does get the facts right once and awhile tho'.. Like ever since Clinton and the Chinese military stole the '92 election.

What's with this guy? I heard him with the FOX News crew this morning and he said there should be no investigation against Bush and if Bush would release the documents, all would be over.

Beats me.. I gave up trying to figure out what some of these congress critters are taking. I think they inject "pork" intravenously and it makes 'em lose their minds and babble incoherently, kinda like al Gore.

Well... and you can't take one comment and rip it out of its context either. That's what Ford has done here. The dispute came over which "rule" to apply to a complicated transacation. The Auditor told Harkin to apply this rule, and Harkin did. The SEC later said it was the wrong rule. Harkin applied the other rule, earnings had to be re-adjusted.
There is something very dishonest when you rip a comment out of context and try to build up on it. By time Bush said the "not black and white" comment, he had answered the same question about 20 times. And just because you ask the same question another way doesn't make it different. Donald Rumsfield is very good at calling reporters on that trick.
