It sounds to me like Brenda cared more about the dog than about her daughter. I would put the dog outside, not send my daughter to her room!!

I thought she was sent to her room prior to bvd nursing it, IE: Didn't brenda later go up and take care of the wound? Did it bleed? I thought brenda said it did not bleed.

Brenda didn't care about the dog either. Damon even testified that the dog is neglected.
