Hizbullahs deputy secretary-general, Sheikh Naim Qassem, asserted over the weekend that it was not in Europes interest to be subordinate to the United States.
In a statement released Sunday, Qassem said: I say to the European countries, if you want to enjoy distinction (in the region), then you should not scrutinize the resistance movements in the region, especially those in occupied Palestine, by describing them as terrorists. He added that labeling these movements as terrorist would mean that the Europeans would lose the people in this region.
Now that the Oslo Accords and the Madrid (Peace Conference) have died, he said, we have two options: either to continue the intifada in rejection of the Israeli project or to have Israeli dominance which would not allow Palestine to exist.
Therefore, he said, there is no solution except continuing the intifada.
Bah. The English are now working more or less actively with al Quaida, sheltering one of its prime figures. Seems the English intel community is just as trustworthy as the Pakistani counterparts.
Of course, treachery has been fine-honed to an art form with them long ago, starting with the communist spy rings :).
Of course they could. But knowing the history of the Brits and where their sympathies lie, I don't believe that for a minute.
