They are doing a special on this... I don't really know my history. Are they talking really small numbers of Jewish men that helped Hitler's Army or are they talking lots.

I saw a special the other day on a Jewish man that was working in Hitler's counterfeit money making operation and it seemed a little weird that they would have a prisoner working the counterfeit money.

Can someone with a pretty good knowledge of history expound on the extent of Hitler/Jewish collusion.

I know it is a loaded question... but probably worthy of some discussion and/or educated dismissal.

There has been some research on this. These soldiers were Mischlinge, that is, descendants of Jews who converted to Christianity in the 19th century and intermarried with Germans.

These people did not identify themselves as Jews, did not practice Judaism or have anything to do with the Jewish community. They were "Jews" only according to the Nazi racist definition.

This show is about a book which explains that because of Hitler's demented racial laws some Germans who were not brought up Jewish, (some were in fact baptized) but who may have had some Jewish relatives, were considered "Jewish".

Jews in fact were not even allowed to serve in the German military.

There was a post of a story here on this some weeks back... very interesting read. some were hiding there background and got drafted Some were German in the military that never considered them self that became “Jews” because of the Nazi race laws (that one drop of blood nonsense).

Also the more learn about some of the leading Nazi relationships with Jews in ther past the more bizarre it becomes (Dr. Gobbles wife almost marry a leading Zionist of the day and moved to Palestine before Gobbles!)

This "special" is based on a book that some (very few!) Nazis were part Jewish.

The book "Hitler's Jewish Soldiers" was covered on NBC DateLine maybe a month ago.
It was interesting that for some of the German soldiers of undetermined ethnicity,
there was an appeal process. These soldiers had to submit documentation, including
a number of profile and portrait photographs.
Hitler personally reviewed thousands of these files, making the final call as to whether someone was not Jewish.
And a paper would be issued to those found non-Jewish, with Hitler's signature attached to
the correspondence.

Pretty inefficient use of time for the leader of a country running low on
bodies to fill his military...

People would be amazed to know that many Germans served in the American Armed Forces in WW2. As a matter of fact, most of the soldiers in the US Armed Forces were German and British.

I have talked to an Ex-Nazi soldier about the Second World War, and asked him about the Jews. He said that he didn't know what Hitler was doing to the Jews, all he knew was what the propaganda machine told him, that his home land was under attack, and he was needed to defend it. So he joined the military and was taken prisoner on D-Day, when he was defending the beach. It wouldn't surpise me if some of the Jews didn't know what was happening, or just tried to deny the clues they saw.

Why is this even a story? Whets propelling this? A Book? With what is going on in the world today this is not news worthy. Ever since Cosby got her own program she is really getting lost. I liked her better as an investigative journalist. I think it's time to get her some new producers.

The dunderheads in the news media are again displaying their complete ignorance of history. They actually seem to believe that the fact that partially-Jewish men fought in the Wehrmacht is news. It isn't. It's been witten about and discussed for decades.

The racial classification boards that were established by the 1935 Nuremberg Laws considered a person with two Jewish grandparents a "Mischling" or a person of mixed race (known as a first degree Mischling). A person with only one Jewish grandparent was a second-degree Mischling. There were perhaps 150,000 of these people of "mixed race" who fought in the Nazi army.

There weren't "many" of them (taking into account the total numbers involved), and they were not considered Jews. They were considered people of "mixed race," which is what Mischling means. The facts won't prevent an idiot like Cosby from trying to make it appear otherwise, however.

I don't remember on what TV station I saw this story (maybe 60 minutes) but there were Jews interviewed who said that they joined the Nazi's to protect their families. They also said that their "higher ups" were aware that they were Jews but because of the friendship that had developed between them, the Jews were told to keep quiet and "there would be no trouble" (in other words, they wouldn't be reported and sent to concentration camps).

Ihave many friends and co-workers that are Americans but are of Mexican decent.I may call them a silly Mexican in jest but they are still American.When I grew up it was in a german community.Many spoke english as a second language even though they were born here in America.Too many times we are quick to label someone because of their heritage IMO.One note though,the community I grew up in differentiated between an israili jew,German jews and russian jews.Just my 2 cents worth.
