These environmental idiots successfully challenged a building development here in San Diego, where we are desperate for housing, and all because of a tiny butterfly. It seems the butterfly was native to this habitat and was "endangered". My suggestion was to take the butterfly and give it to the San Diego Zoo - where everyone could enjoy it in the butterfly exhibit.
Instead, they have kept homes from being built which were needed. It's so stupid!
It's not about saving insects. It's about preventing development. It's about hampering human endeavor. It's luddism, basically.

Yes, of course! They use animals, insects and the environment as a tool to keep progress from taking place. I do also agree these people believe "man" is the problem.
If you haven't seen "Spirit" yet, you should. This movie - for the children - is just another blatant attack at people (especially white people), and the only good person in the movie is an indian. But ... what really struck me was the anger of the horse (Spirit), who destroys the railroad's attempt to "progress" onto his land. A very PC movie.
