I have wondered whether the reasons Americans fight with obesity could be related to city water.

My husband and I moved overseas, and my weight dropped 20 pounds without eating differently. When we would go back to the states, my wieght would go up. When we returned to our overseas home, it went down again. Now we live in a very rural area and we have well water, and I don't have to fight with my weight. So I wonder if you may be on to something there.

You're just "getting the runs" more often from the untreated water..........just kidding! I have a well also, and there's nothing better.

Since fluoride is naturally occurring in most areas of the country, it is likely that you have at least trace amounts of fluoride in your water now. Check with your local water authorities to find out.

But that begs the question, as with any disease reportedly related to fluoride consumption, if it is naturally occurring in water suppiles around the country, some at levels hundreds of times higher than optimal, why don't we see a history of rampant obesity in these areas?
