What channel is the Boston show on?
To: Aquamarine
Discovery. And they will rerun it again after the live show is over, in case you want to watch the show in D.C. (boring...LOL).

Lovely. I'll paste it here, if you don't mind.
Prayer for the United States: He who gives victory to kings and dominion to princes, whose reign is a reign for all eternity, who freed David, his servant, from an evil sword, who opened a road through the sea and a path through mighty waters, may He bless, guard, protect, help, exalt, make great and raise on high: President George W. Bush of the United States of America May the King of all Kings in his mercy preserve him in life and guard him and deliver him from all distress, from all grief and trouble, may he lead nations to come to his feet; may he cause those who hate him to fall down before him, and grant him success wherever his efforts may turn. May the supreme King of Kings instill compassion in his heart and into the hearts of all his counselors and advisors so that he may deal kindly with us and with all of Israel. In his days and in ours may Judah be saved and Israel dwell securely, and may the Redeemer come to Zion, may this be His will, and let us say, Amen.

Checked out of our vacation hotel today.Home now and Sara and I will light up the skies(just a little) with some backyard fireworks to celebrate Independance Day and to remember how we got our freedom.
Its a loud, noisey business. The noise represents the guns, the lights of the fireworks the rockets, the fun is our victory. The neighbors are involved. We are all in this together!

We're in D.C. and the right now theromometer is reading 95!!
This evening the
White House is featuring a webcam on top of the White House to watch the fireworks on the mall.
We're going to hook the laptop up to the DVD projecter and watch it on the family room wall.
It will be like watching it with W and Laura!
We went out and watched the real thing Monday, and then again Tuesday night.
Started out the day by reading The Declaration of Independence to my son.
Well, off to the Mall.
Happy 4th everyone!! May it always be under God.

I found "Pop Goes The Fourth" on the A&E channel. The conductor said they were fixing to play Stars and Stripes!

Cooked steaks on the grill, visited with family, enjoyed the patriotic graphics and messeges on Free Republic, watched "1776" and "Independence Day" on tv and the US Capitol Fourth of July Celebration (part of it) and soon leaving to see the local fireworks!
God Bless to all and stay safe!
And GOD Bless America!

Hi, Howlin, put my flag on my car, went to mass and then work today. Came home for lunch and my husband barbecued. Great idea!! you say-well the fresh veggies were burnt on one side so it was like eating wafers and the hot dogs were pretty dark and crispy and the hamburgers were just right.
We all laughed about the BBQ. Then we all went to see MIB with Will Smith and Tommy Jones. Could not go see Tom Cruise b/c of his negative comments and my husband vetoed Mr. Deeds.
Son went off to work at McDonalds. I fed my plants and now am FR. and my husband is mowing the pastures. During this whole day, I found time to pray to God for the safety of our country and to thank him for the freedom and for the beautiful country he allowed me to live in.
Hope you had a lovely day.

We went to see the parade in Sudbury, Massachusetts. I was frankly appalled to see that a number of Demonrat politicians used the occasion to have brigades of their supporters march in the parade with banners supporting the various individual candidacies, and handing out balloons and candy, as if the point of this holiday was to celebrate our politicians.
Bad enough seeing banners for Marty Meehan, who was at the forefront of that recent attack on our liberties known as CFR. But even more outrageous was watching Democrat candidate for governor Steve Grossman's people marching and shouting "Go Steve!" as if the point of July 4 was simply to build his own name recognition.
Robert Reich's people were also out in force, as were Tom Birmingham's -- a man who, like the rest of them, favors taxing the good people of Massachusetts far more than King George ever dreamed. Mitt Romney, the RINO favored to win, at least had the class to be conspicuous by the absence of a campaign effort.
Some might say that having political candidates -- or their campaign people -- marching in an Independence Day parade is appropriate because it is a living celebration of our self-governing "democracy." But I do not agree. I think the self-serving campaign presence of these statist politicians makes a mockery of the ideals that led to the founding of this country.
Too bad we couldn't have met them with tar and feathers, which would have reminded people of the spirit that the Revolutionary generation had, and perhaps given the children in the crowd a better lessona bout what this holiday is supposed to stand for.

It's a beautiful day and the grill chef has treated all us unfortunate souls who have to work today with a splendid feast.
Having to deal with colleagues in Brazil, Mexico, UK and Argentina who seem to miss the point that today is a holiday.
Go figure...

I was going to skip this thread but now I'm glad I didn't...
The only thing wrong with that picture is that you are holding the bass, not me...
Your wife must be the perfect outdoor companion (We paddled around. Drank beers. Ate a sub sandwich. Smoked cigars)
Happy Fourth to ya from across the pond...

So far, not much. I grilled some corn, followed with a few tenderloins & mesquite marinated chicken breasts--plus homemade baked beans & German potato salad, cole slaw & a bunch of other stuff. When we make some room, we'll eat the watermelon. A little later, we may go to downtown Green Bay & see the fireworks--or we'll just stay home & watch the fireworks from the backyard. It depends on how full we are and if we want to crawl through traffic.
The dog is under the bed, of course. This is not his favorite day. (Lhasas are not gun dogs.)
