Give me a break. It's no wonder that this country is in the shape that it is when you have people coming out against individuals who know the whole story, and who care for the the future of this country.
Are you going to slander more Christians, myself being one?
how about stopping at dismantled? ;)
Good to know I had company. Wasn't that the saddest example of total ineptness you could ever imagine?
Like uh, everyday. I like him, though. He is far better than the DemoRats.
Between this guy and Scott Evertz, who believes in clean needles, condoms and gay marriage to solve AIDS, there really is no difference in the Bush Administration than there was in the Joycelyn Elder's era.
That he may be,
But it seems to me,
The sun is on the horizon
Already.
I haven't read this woman's writings so don't know where she stands on condom use. I assume, based on the bio of her which CDC is running, she knows and understands that condom usage does not protect against all STD's. Quite frankly, raking her over the coals because of something she hasn't said, which Dobson appears to be doing in the above quote, seems silly to me.
Running the CDC involves multiple talents - a strong background in infectious disease, an understanding of how to run a federal bureacracy, and outstanding management skills. I don't see anything in her bio that screams she's incompetent in either of these areas.
Get a grip, people. We're facing the possibility of all kinds of infectious disease onslaughts, some from evily innovative new exposure methods and possibly genetically altered organisms. Let us hope that someone's stand on homosexuality and needle distribution is not the key determinant on whether he/she is selected as the head of the CDC. And before you flame me, for what it's worth, I'm a conservative Christian.
Don't overreact. Every President makes a lot of mistakes. And sometimes he must compromise to advance more important issues. It could be that this appointment is a political payback. Regardless of the reason, every President is going to receive a lot of complaints. However Dobson is fairly level-headed, so I would pay attention to what he says. It is probably something we should speak out about.
Bush the elder lost due to a lot more reasons than just one lie. First of all, it was the foundation of his campaign and presidency. Secondly it was a complete reversal. He publicly urged congress to increase taxes. Then on top of it He ran one of the worst campaigns of all time. And we had Perot out there to split the ticket. And in spite of all that it was very close. If that rat independent prosecutor hadn't indicted a bunch of Reagan officials right before the election, Bush might have been re-elected.
America is in a war against terrorism, and many of their denizens apparently have biological warfare on their agendas of "things to do as soon as possible" - not to mention the anthrax gig that was already done, the investigation of which seems to have been magnificently bumbled. It seems to me the CDC should have been out in front on that one and not worrying about other "significant health issues". The old CDC (prior to the Clintonistas) surely would have been. Now it seems full of paper-shufflers, time-servers, and Oprah wannabees. This woman seems to be one of them.
This country needs somebody in charge of the CDC who has their head on straight and can focus in on life-and-death issues for today, not the PC ones eveybody likes to talk about endlessly in the breathless press, such as "safe sex". IMHO (watching her singularly inept talk) she is from another era named The Clinton Era!
Bush can surely do better. I agree with Dobson.
Thumbs down!
I am no Bush fan, but I strongly disagree. The CDC's role, if we are to have a CDC (which is another argument) is to control disease, not to implement somebody's vision of moral behaviour, even if it might be your vision or mine.
BWAAHAHAHAHA!! Thanks!
