As for your Christians comment...Not every battle Irv chose was the wisest. It is widely recoginzed and appreciated that religious Christians are some of Israel's biggest supporters. That won't be forgotten.

I'm glad to hear you say that. This means you may be more open-minded than you first appeared to be. Religious bigots of all stripes need to keep in mind that any country that has the power to oppress one religion,has the power to oppress all religions. Or even to DEMAND non-believers such as myself attend religious services. If I am to be able to continue to enjoy the freedom of remaining a non-believer,I HAVE to be able to allow YOU the same freedom to be a Jew,and others to be of whatever faith they follow. You can't endanger one without putting all in danger. No government needs or should have this type of power.

The truth is there are probably more rabid pro-Israel fundie Christians in this country than there are pro-Israeli Jews.

While you have the unquestioned right to have him or anyone else as a hero,you are doing a great disservice to the heroic Jews of the Warsaw ghetto who raised up and fought the Nazis when you compare them to a man who was a virtual spiritual cousin to the Nazi SS troops they fought.
