McGovern: Daschle Will Seek White House
NewsMax.com ^ | 7/3/02

Former South Dakota Sen. George McGovern, who lost his own race for the White House to Richard Nixon in the biggest landslide in American history, predicted Tuesday night that fellow South Dakotan, Senate plurality leader Tom Daschle, will eventually run for president.

"My guess is that at some point he'll run," McGovern told WABC Radio's John Batchelor and Paul Alexander. "Whether he'll do it in 2004, though, I think, is another question."

If the Democrats retain their plurality in the Senate after this year's midterm election, Daschle will likely stay put, the 1972 Democratic presidential candidate said.

"He likes the job that he now has," added McGovern," so he'll have to decide that."

Maybe the International war crimes kangaroo court will take affect under him. I think most Demon Cats are in favor of that.

By 2008 he will be small enough to star in the movie " The Incredible Shrinking Senator ".

There's just nothing more entertaining than one loser spewing bilge about another loser.

I've said this all along, if the GOP takes back the Senate in 2002, Daschle will run for pres, otherwise he'll wait til 2008.

You got that right. McGovern didn't carry his home state, and Daschle won't either if he runs.

Big surprise!!!!

Let me see...... no longer lives in South Dokata, but has a home in Washington D.C.

Who exactly does this Senate majority leader represent.......the people of South Dakota that elected him?....I don't think so.

Megabarf, hurl alert:

Seems like there was one of these nostalgic "30 years after watergate" conventions in the last month or so, and if memory serves, John Dean comes up to George McGovern and is overcome by tears and says to McGovern "You are much more presidential than the president I served under".

I support Tom Daschle because...
(1) The white house furniture could be smaller and less expensive.
(2) He could ride in a black VW Golf.
(3) His wife could retire and save taxpayers a fortune in graft.
(4) I would never get tired of him saying "I'm concerned, Tim."

This is not a shot at you Gened for posting this, so please do not take offense, but:

The best I can say to George McGovern is.............DUHHHHHHH!!!!

What is the next flash from this former star of the Democratic party...........Hillary may run?

My prediction:

Al Gore in 04............ He lost once, will lose again, unless something dramatic happens then George is a shoe in. Sacrificial lamb.

Hillary in 08, Daschle likely opponent to her. Possible ticket in 08...............

Hill and Tom

Hill and Dick

Hill an Pelosi

The Dems would love to run an all female ticket.

Note they would not be running an all "Lady" ticket. Hill may be female, but she is no Lady.

Pelosi by the way, I like (but not her politics).

Michael

The nomination is Gore's if he wants it.

If he doesn't (which I doubt) Dashole will go after it.

The real question is who will be Gores VP? Liberman is out, so I read in another thread. Would Dashole suck up for the VP nod?

The nomination is Gore's if he wants it.

The best thing Gore has going for him is that the Democrat's base can read four-letter words.

The Democrat Party's winning combination:

The ethics of Bll Clinton...

...and the politics of George McGovern.

Yeah, that's a real vote getter! ;-)

The Democrat Party, c.1972:

Amnesty, Acid, and Abortion

The Democrat Party, c.2002:

Race Baiting, Abortion, and Taxes - or

RAT!!!
