Bush is playing Chess not Checkers, but the naysayers will never see this. Poker, my friend. He's from Texas.

As usual, much ado about nothing. - The russians say they cannot make money at less than $25 barrel. - This scheme ain't gonna work. From our end , it works fine. With Russia able to sell at $25, the mideast cannot conspire to raise prices higher than that.

As of now, it is difficult to say to what extent the oil deliveries will be economically justified. Ultimately, the market will decide, but economic efficiency as such isn't the only issue. It certainly isn't for OPEC. This is an additional source of supply from friends that may come in handy at some point. It heads off the likelyhood of another OPEC embargo for one thing.

"Fox cannot undo damage"
I have to disagree. I have a sister who was ready to vote for McCain until she and her husband started watching FOX. Also, it's not 30-50% - actually, it's only about 17-23% who are sold out to the liberal agenda.

Hmm what a weird world where I trust the Russians more than the Saudis........

Marx-Engles-Darwin Without getting into the Darwinism (evolution) debate, I find it very hard to link Darwin with Marx and Engels. Politically Darwin was a good British imperialist, and even supported Christian missions to the South Pacific.
The Communists had their own version of evolution quite different from Darwinism. Google on "Lysenko" for more details.

From PRAVDA!?!?! My, they must have changed. Looking at thier website, I can see that they have but I caught a couple of anti-american rants. Not as bad rantwise as some "mainstream" American rags, though.

RUSSIA'S PRESENT TO AMERICA ON INDEPENDENCE DAY I can't tell you how thrilled I am to learn that a new oil source and a bolstered relationship with Russia is the "present" being noted.
Sure beats the "present" we got last July 4: the announcement of a new Yakoff Smirnoff comedy tour.

with the green party in europe, the saudis cannot depend on that market being as stable as the 20% sold to the us market.... it is good to do business with moscow, when goods cross borders, guns do not... don't know who said it, but i like that quote.

Any country that actually impliments a flat tax (Russia with 15%) is ok by me.Me too, I'd have thought I died and went to heaven if I only had to pay 15%.
As to the other questions, I don't believe we import any 100% Russian gas, yet and someone posted companies that sell gas with no Saudi ties. I can't remember the thread, but it was back when they visited Bush at the ranch.

This is not looking good for the Arab, oil-producing nations. They might start looking over their shoulders wondering when the bombers will appear overhead.

Well then in this case I hope you are the correct one.
