BOSNIA: Police Corruption and Terrorism

June 30, 2002; In addition to the rampant criminality, there is a growing problem with police being compromised with bribes and offers to go into business with criminals. Some foreign policemen who serve to advise and help supervise Bosnian police have been accused of openly cooperating with criminal gangs. Foreign policemen who go into business on the side are not disciplined, even if the business is a brothel. All this is becoming quite a scandal, as it is feared that the growing number of "dirty cops" are also being bought off by Islamic organizations engaged in terrorist activities. The US has been behind cracks down on these Islamic organizations, but the Islamic radicals have some local support, as well as assistance from corrupt officials.

June 29, 2002; Islamist terrorists and drug trafficking aren’t Bosnia’s only big problems. Over the past two months a number of reports have cropped up on “sex slaving” involving Bosnia. “Trafficking in women” is another way of describing the activity. The UN reports that 213 “establishments” suspected of being involved in sex trafficking in Bosnia have been raided in the last year, with 116 of them getting shut down. Bosnia is a transit point for this type of human trafficking because of its weak police forces and fragile judicial system.

June 5, 2002; AFP reported that a suspected Muslim terrorist, Saleh Nidal (a Yemeni), escaped from Bosnian police “surveillance.” Nidal is wanted in Italy for helping orchestrate attacks in Italy. Italy was seeking Nidal’s extradition.

The American people, the men in uniform, all of us were lied to and used in Bosnia to create a situation that we have and will continue to regret for years to come.

Is the term "blowback"?

We're going to suffer blowback big time. The only way I want our NATO troops to stay is if they actually go after these terrorist instead of assisting them. Shame on us.

Are we starting to figure out why Serbs don't like Muslims?

No, the term is "misleading" as in strategypage's reporting of the Balkans.

Bosnia is a damn sight better off today than it was in 1995, when it was a damn sight better off than it was in mid '92, when a bunch of murdering thugs were given state sanction to rape, rob, and kill, and were unleashed upon a disarmed population with an eye to turning a profit behind the lie that is Serb Nationalism.

No Iranians or Muslim charities skimming funds for terrorists in Bosnia in 1992, btw - there's your blowback.

Oh? Were you involved with Iranians and other Muslim charities to know that they were not skimming funds for terrorists in Bosnia back in 1992?

You are right about those murderous Jihadists that made life in Bosnia a utter hell.

problem is those murdering Jihadists were allies of Clinton's.

Instead of siding with the Jihadists, Clinton could have allied ourselves with moderate Muslims such as Firket Abdic......who won the Presidential Election, but was mysteriously pushed out by the Jihadists.

At every fork in the Bosnian road, the Clintonista HumWarriors chose the path of extremist violence. There was plenty of opportunity to stop the fighting in 1992, 93, 94.........but the HumWarriors refused any moderate solution.

Ultimately the Bosnian people suffered.

No, but then there weren't any muslim charities in Bosnia to skim funds from before the Serbs went on their little rampage - were there.
