WASHINGTON -- When President Bush announced last week that the United States would back a Palestinian state once Yasser Arafat was replaced, standing at his side were Secretary of State Colin Powell, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice.

She is a real class act.
Sure is great to have adults in charge.
Shame the same can't be said about our great (sic) senate, lead by that traitor tiny tommy dashole.

Gazing at the White House, the young Condoleezza announced that some day she would live there. Let the Democrats be afraid, very afraid.

"She seems to move between two worlds -- music and work. Music is the soft side of her," Callan said."She can move like a tiger, and she is quite fearless,"
You got to love this stuff.

I like the way you think. IMHO, she's got the sutff to do it. My only question is who'd be VP? J.C. Watts, I hope.

At 15, she graduated from high school. At 19, she graduated from the University of Denver, fluent in four languages. I go to church with one of her sorority sisters from DU (Alpha Chi Omega). According to her, Condi really is a most amazing woman.

It's a bit risky putting someone on the big ticket who has never won an election, isn't it?

U.S. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice talks about the conflict in the Middle East and the war on terrorism on NBC's "Meet the Press" in Washington, Sunday, June 30, 2002. Both Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell said Sunday that the U.S. would not keep dealing with Yasser Arafat and that the Palestinian people must realize what is at stake. Just from the standpoint of risk, I don't like it. She is already more qualified than Alan Keyes ever was, or Pat Buchanan. She holds a significant position in the Executive branch. But this is the big leagues;it all comes down to elections; elections mean campaigning; campaigning means MONEY. Which brings me back to risk.
As a GOP supporter, I would like to see someone with a proven track record of winning. Wasn't that what drove GW to the top of the pack so quickly in 99? He had experience running for office. He had helped his dad campaign. He had won an election in a big state. He had a track record as an executive with a Democrat legislature. GOP primary voters chose him because he was a winner. I know a lot of folks whose ideology more closely matched Steve Forbes or Alan Keyes, but they chose GW as their candidate. I have to beliebe risk assessment was the main reason. Nothing against GW, but his odds of winning were the main factor.
I would have to think the same applies to the big donors, whose money makes campaigns go. I would be less inclined to throw large sums at a ticket with Condi Rice on it, because her lack of experience campaigning, the lack of a track record, and frankly, the fact that a woman has yet to win on the big ticket all conspire to make it a risky investment. And why buy the cow anyway? If she is willing to work in the Administration as an appointed official, then let her. If she is so valuable, why subject her to referendum, where we could lose her?

What a fantastic woman. I'd love to see her go one on one with the hildebeaste in 2008.

There is speculation in Washington that if Cheney chose to step down for health reasons before the next presidential election, Rice might wind up in the running as a vice presidential candidate. That notion prompted her friend George Shultz, a former secretary of state, to observe, "Wouldn't that be a ticket!" Chris,
Should we hold our breath waiting for Ari Fleischer to deny this speculation? Probably not, huh?
